InTheZone
Is he eligible to play this year? I don't like it when guys with troubled pasts have a year to sit out. They get bored and go do stupid things. Edited April 6, 2016 by InTheZone

InTheZone
Yeah just noticed that he transferred in last year. Props to Bowden for keeping him in line, he has a remarkable track record for doing that with troubled players. He should write a book on it when he retires, a lot of other coaches would find it very useful.

The only incident I can recall was the McDonalds situation a couple years ago, and the players involved were all Ianello recruits, and it wasn't that big of a situation either when compared to the stuff most football programs have had to deal with. Hopefully, this string of good fortune continues.
kreed5120
Akron has become a destination for players looking for a 2nd chance either because of character issues or because they can't break the starting lineup on whatever P5 school they initially signed with. It's a nice niche and I want to see it continue moving forward, but I'm not sure it will be sustainable once Bowden leaves or retires. It all started in 2008 with second team preseason All-MAC Iowa transfer Ryan Bain. So many memories.
