ZachTheZip Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 That'll do it. We're not good enough to hold a comfortable lead. We're still in Bowden's "Win close" phase. Quote

Miami is putrid. 2 weeks in a row the Zips play a nail biter against 2 of the absolute worst teams in the country. Any other conclusion is spin, pure and simple. ZachTheZip Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 Best part: It's impossible to finish any worse than the past two seasons. We're a consistently average MAC team. Quote

Dr Z Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 (edited) Warms my heart to read ZN members complaining about a 9 point victory on the road. Now the tough part of our schedule, the home games. Should we wear our road uniforms at home? Edited November 14, 2015 by Dr Z 2 Quote

ctmjbowes@sbcglobal.net Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 Way to go Zippers! UA was clearly the better team that also had rough moments in the second half. There were plenty of FUN moments in the game on both sides of the ball. Isn't it nice to watch the Zips and not want to crawl into a hole during and after the game? Go Zips! 2 Quote

Savannah State - 1-8 1-AA team. They are so bad they lost 42-3 to Morgan State, 55-9 to Howard and 42-3 by Hampton. 2. Louisiana - 4-5. Their 4 wins are against 1-AA Northwest State, 2-6 Texas State, 2-6 Georgia State & 1-8 louisiana monroe. Impressive.3. Eastern Michigan - 1-9. Their 1 win is against 1-9 Wyoming. Yeah!4. UMass - 1-9. Their 1 win is against 5-5 FIU. 5. Miami - 2-9. Their 2 wins are against 1-AA Presbyterian and 1 win Eastern Michigan. They could ride the short bus to work and get 5 wins against that group of titans!!!The fact is, in 4 years we have only beaten 2 teams with a winning record. 7-5 Toledo in 2013 and 7-5 Pitt in 2014. Hardly an impressive win list. Quote

Zipgrad01 Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 (edited) Better than losing to these teams, no?Absolutely. That wasn't the point. The point is that some people think we are further along than we really are. We have improved so slightly that we now barely beat the worst pieces of garbage in football instead of losing to them. We have been blessed with the most cupcake MAC schedules in history for the last 2 or 3 years. We need some good wins to really start selling the program. Recruiting is still stagnant. Beating these rum dums doesnt fool anyone. We are so tormented that beating a high school team makes us feel good. Edited November 14, 2015 by Zipgrad01 1 Quote

But yes, we are far from being a really good team right now. A bowl appearance would help immensely, so being 5-5 right now is fine. Quote
