RowdyZip
Initial line on Zips @ CMU:Akron (-2.5) O/U 47.5I'll be first to offer up. This was a highly technically computed result:Akron 28-17P.S. Had a friend give me this link, I'm intrigued by the predictionshttp://www.marsee.net/06rec.txtread the above link and you'll know even more that
sgm405
OSU, USC, Louisville, Auburn, and Virginia Tech - all undefeated? Man, that'd be a BCS nightmare :lol:24-17 Zips
Zips fan
This game has me a bit worried. I think the Zips are going to win, but it will take OT.Zips 24 CMU 21 OTGO ZIPS!!
ZipAnalyst
Actually this will be a repeat of the Akron/Northern Illinois scenario last year. This the first of two games with the second being for the MAC championship. Akron wins this one 49 to 42.Akron wins the MAC 28 to 21.
Ryno aka Menace
I am also greatly concerned about this game, this and Miami may be our toughests games left. I repect this team alot. I think our D may give us an edge. I am gonna say 28-24 Akron! Gp Zips!
Buckzip
I predict UA wins on the last play of the game on a Dennis Kennedy run.
Quickzips
Centrals players keep them in it most of the game, but their coach outsmarts himself at the end with a mistimed trick play.Zips win 27-21.
Zip N' Dots
This is the same team that we played after a big win against NIU last year.We were up 17-0 on them and the Zips got a head to big for their shoulders. The next thing you know 31 unanswered by CMU! Have we grown? This will be a true test for this years Akron team!I predict 35-28 UA!
Kangaroo Craig
Defense and clock control rules again. 17-10 Zips.
Zipmeister
Akron 24CMU 23I hope, but, I have a bad feeling about this game.
zen
Everyone has called it close, so far.I'm going to be daring and call it for teh Zipz, 28-
zipboy
If we are all paranoid, I am sure the coaches are. Let's get a good week of practice. The offense makes some quick strikes. Stec has a good day. Zips win 31-17.
CMichFan
This is your 3rd straight road game, and that's tough for any team. This week, our receivers catch the big ones.CMU 38, Akron
bobbyake
CMU's defense wont be a factor in this. Akron is going to score 35+. I don't think they're going to be able to stop Dennis Kennedy. The guy has so much passion.
Lone Zip in Col
I'm with Zipmeister,Akron 24CMU 23I'm hopeful that the team will limit the penalties this week. If not it will be a long drive back to Ohio.
Captain Kangaroo
CMU has had BC and Michigan back-to-back. They're physically in no better shape than us, and mentally they're coming off a beat down. Zips 27 CMU
Ryno aka Menace
I am changing my prediction..I think we blow them out. Yes I said it!! BLOW THEM OUT!!! Our Offense hasn't click from jump yet. I think this is the week our offense clicks! Harvey has 2 BIG games under his belt, Jabari FINALLY wakes up and gets involved, while Kenndy and Getsy do their usual. JD opens up the playbook cause it is conference play.Defensivly I have never had any worries and this week will be no different. roodi
I love the Zips and think they're headed for a fine season, but something makes me very worried about CMU. My heart says Akron 35 CMU 17, but my logic tells me CMU 42 - UA 28. Don't know why I have this sense, but I would bet that CMU is the breakout team in the make this year along with Ohio.Go Zips! Dr Z
my logic tells me CMU 42 - UA 28.After PSU and NC State we are #43 in the nation in defense I would HOPE (and doubt) we give up 42 points this year to any team left on the schedule. I hope everyone is right about UA over CMU. However, what's been interesting about the MAC over the years is the dark horse winning it all (Akron last year, for example). You just don't have that very often in, for example, the Big 10. How often would the bottom dweller win the Big 10 the following year? As was noted, Akron's D is ranked 43. Okay, nice statistic, but what does this really tell us about the D when Colorado State is marked at #1? It's early yet, my fellow Zips.I'm not trying to jinx the Zips, I'm just not sure Akron's up to this game. As I said, I think CMU will be a surprise in the MAC this year. Though illogical, I guess, last year's drubbing (31-17 was it?) increases my apprehension. Last year I thought, ok, the Zips are ready to roll. Instead, they demonstrated that they were still very suspect.

Zipsrifle
Hope to there will be a good Zip turnout. Though I'm probably the closest Zip fan to Mt. Pleasant, I won't be able to make the game. Will be listening on the radio for SURE! Glad to see some people are worried about this game. I think Zip Analyst summed it up well.....We'll see these guys one more time this year. Remembering #5's performance 2 years ago, I say we get down in the first half, and come back to take the lead for good early in the 4th. Add a TD late to button it up. Nailbiter till about 2 min left. Akron 38, CMU 24.
