I hope everyone has caught the information about watching this on TV tonight.

Clayton WON his semifinal heat, and is running in the 800 Meter Final tonight at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, OR.

His finals race is supposed to be on NBC Sports Network at 8:51PM Eastern Time.

Good Luck Clayton.  We'd love to see you in the Olympics representing our University and our Country.

Lots of Twitter action on Clayton's trials victory.  Clayton was trending for a couple hours.  How many of you know the man who presented him with the trials gold medal -- Dave Wottle?  Canton and BGSU product.  Here he is winning the US' last gold medal in the 800 at Munich in '72.

Still would have loved to see what he could have done in the 1,500.  3rd place tonight was .2 seconds better than his NCAA final time.

Just wait four years -- that's his eventual distance.  He'll probably concentrate on that after Rio.

@Z.I.P ... Thanks for that Dave Wottle gold medal footage.

Clayton Murphy finished 4th in his heat just missing qualifying to the next round.

Edit: Disregard my comment. Apparently I don't know enough about Track and Field.

So best time during this round was 1:45:09 and Clayton ran 1:44:76 to win the U.S. Olympic trial.  I know different conditions, temperatures, etc but hopefully he can run another good race and get to the finals.

The Kenyan looks really strong.

For sure.  I just hope Clayton might have a couple more seconds in him if he's not getting clipped or bumped, like he did in this heat.
