Well under Bowden we've had Avis Commack, Moses McCray, CJ MIzell had some FSU connection IIRC, and I'd imagine the FSU connection played a role in getting Brian Bell. Quote
ZippyRulz Posted August 16, 2016 Report Posted August 16, 2016 It's a start. Maybe shake the WVU and Auburn trees as well. Quote
K92 Posted August 17, 2016 Report Posted August 17, 2016 Dare I say recruiting is turning the corner? 1 Quote
zipsoutsider Posted August 17, 2016 Report Posted August 17, 2016 He is on the roster, does that mean he is eligible to play this year? Does the 105 on the roster = the 105 at camp? Quote

We know JoJo Natson was with the team all last year and yet he wasn't listed on the 2015 roster, nor were any other transfers that were known. http://www.gozips.com/sports/fball/2015-16/roster Quote

The only players not on the roster are ones not academically eligible. If academics are good, but they transferred, they can still be shown on the roster. Quote

After I posted it, I figured I was oversimplifying it. Quote

If they are sitting out, they can't participate - why would they show on the roster? They aren't officially on the team if they are sitting out. Quote

If you stop this video at the :41 second mark, then you should be able to see #85 Freddie Simmons Jr. dressed in practice gear and standing on the sideline between #28 Manny Morgan and the guy holding the orange bulls-eye marker stick (also Simmons Jr. can be spotted at the 1:04 mark standing askew toward the right of the screen). He obviously practices with the team. He is a part of the team. He is learning the playbook etc. He just can't suit up for and play in any games like against VMI or at Wisconsin, or any other game on the 2016 schedule. Edited August 17, 2016 by zzx Quote

However, his bio says that he must sit out 2016. http://www.gozips.com/sports/fball/2016-17/bios/king_james_8jh3?view=bio 1 Quote
K92 Posted August 17, 2016 Report Posted August 17, 2016 Unfortunately, gozips.com has been very inconsistent with listing transfers on the roster. Jojo Natson never showed up on last year's roster but Coe and Marcus were on the '14 roster when they were sitting out. Quote

I wouldn't be surprised if the Zips upset Wisconsin this year. They are leaning to start an inexperienced QB over a limited experienced one. Quote

If that were to happen, Chryst would never play Bowden, again. Quote
