Looking forward to seeing a classic Zips performance Saturday, something to build on going into tourney time, and a classy way to honor the seniors, like ME87 said.  Hey, saw a young man tonight from Revere HS in their Regional semi-final, Sandor Jacob.  Wow!  Two goals and an assist.  Anyone know anything about him going anywhere to play College Ball, or if he’s in any academies?

Sandor Jakab Sr. played for Zips in 1980s.  Last I knew, Sr. Was coaching for Everest SC.  Jr.  looks like the new and improved model.  Perhaps for the Blue and Vegas?

Thank you my friend Buff-ster.  He really was impressive.  And a legacy to boot?  Pun intended...didn’t know Revere was that highly rated, but they are definitely not over-rated.  If their Regional is early, I might catch two matches Saturday...:champs:

My son played for the STOW coach, so I know him well too!

KK?  I have a cousin on KK's staff,  AC or something like that.  And my cousin has a son playing on that team.  Looking forward to that match.

But if you just want to scout talent, go watch young Sandor Jakab play.  He looks like a Zip to me.

NEO is a micro hotbed of futbol.

Did you forget my post from last night about Sandor?  ?

Just reinforcing what you said.  You started it.  That highlight reel got me on the SJ bandwagon.  Zips need to get that kid!

That’ why I luv ya, Man.  Besides his skill, a legacy, a local, an awkward pronunciation....We DO need to get him...

Interesting discussion, but why in the WMU thread? Why not create a thread about these high school matchups and players??? What does this have to do with Akron v WMU?

GO ZIPS!

WMU will be a stern test come Saturday, and the sloppier the conditions, the more it favors Broncos' direct style.

Broncos are not as good as they were last year, but neither are Zips.

Thank goodness GK Drew Shepherd has finally moved on.  Did he play like 6 years or something?  Don't miss that cat at all!

(I now see that Shepherd is Volunteer Assistant Coach.  What does it take to get rid of this guy?)

https://wmubroncos.com/news/2018/10/30/mens-soccer-heads-to-akron-for-regular-season-finale.aspx?path=msoc

I am not really a soccer coach, I just play one on ZipsNation.org.

But Zips should take MF Tommy Clark out of the match.  Just sit on him.  Mark him tightly, severely limit his touches, tackle him hard a few times, and Broncos will not have Offense.  I would assign Skye Harter to that task.

"WMU ranks first in the MAC with a 1.01 goals against average and 115 corner kicks - averaging 6.76 per game."

Combine those stats with sloppy conditions, and this is unlikely to be a high scoring affair.  Final score will probably be 1-0.

Broncos will take their numerous CK chances very seriously.  They devote the last thirty minutes of every practice to CK execution.

Zips had better come to fight.

Bowling Green leads SIUE 2-0 at 54 minutes

A win gives BGSU #2 seed....

which means that Akron will playing somewhere on Tuesday

if Akron wins and BGSU wins, Akron will be #3 seed and would host #6 seed on Tuesday

and then have to go to w. virginia on friday night and play bowling green
