Why the hell did Ced not have the ball at the end. He is the best ball handelr the Zips have, He could have drove and shot or dished it out for a shot. I think all last year we all said give the ball to CED!!!!! F**K!!!!! :gun::gun: Note to Coach D!!!!!Give the Ball To CED at the end of a game!!!!

Zips lose 81-79. The same problem we had last year with rebounding is still with us, and Woods didi't seem to make that much of a difference. UALR killed us with 3 point shooting and they were extrememly efficient at the free throw line. Joyce and Dials did not have a very good game. But the main thing that concerns me is the rebounding, that is the one thing that will continue to kill us all year. This is one that we hate to lose, but give UALR credit, despite their turnovers they found a way to win.

this is not football.it's one game, and know one know s how good ua lr is right now. if we are 5-5 after ten games then it''s time to panic. bottom line is the regular season does not mean much.if you don't win the mac tourney the chances of making the are slim at best .we have seen that year after year.the mac is usually a one bid conference.i do agree why did not ced have the ball. he is the one guy who can shoot the three, and handle the ball.

The regular season is important .... if it wasn't why play it, just go straight to the MAC tournament? I'm not going to panic after just one game, but I am also not going to get caught up in predicting 24 or 28 wins this year. I may sound like a broken record but we need to become a better rebounding team or we will be limited to one shot everytime down the court.

I could post on several fronts, but I'll limit myself to these few thoughts:Like the Toledo game last season, this was a HUGE opportunity lost. We needed a win vs. a quality team like UALR for our post-season chances. We had them on a neutral court. We needed the exposure vs. a team like Texas Tech on ESPN 2. We needed a "buzz" to help hype the team in the early season. Instead, we got Gardner Webb and Tiffin. That sucks.Don't fret over Joyce not being in the game. He would have hoisted a 29 footer at the buzzer. We need Dials to knock down his open 3's. He missed a ton last year vs. Toledo and he missed too many tonight. Hell...he missed quite a few vs. Hillsdale.Ok Frenchy...why did you keep mentioning that UALR had the advantage of a game under ther belt vs. a D2 team? We had pretty much the same thing vs. Hillsdale. Long season to go. I'm banking on us getting better each game. We did play tough and never folded. I love it that Quade is contributing. But...in the end it was yet another HUGE opportunity lost. See you at at the Tiffin game. Whooppeee.

We need to take advantage of these week teams and get Bardo and McKnight in the mix. We need some big guys out there to fight for rebounds. Little Rock had too many second chances on the offensive glass. McKnight can really be a contributer this year. Bardo we need to develop and need to play him any chance we get.And does anybody else find it troubling that Jeremy Salee from Case Western Reserve was our fourth guard in this game? Is that really the best we got? If so, we're going to have the same problems with not having enough guards to rotate.

UALR is one of the best rebounding teams in the country. We did the samething last year to some big-10 teams.....

Looking at the box score only seems like Dials poor shooting (except at the foul line) was a factor in the game. Maybe they were hoping he would get fouled going into the lane on the last drive. It may have been a toss-up as to risking drawing the foul using Dials or Ced's getting the basket on his better ball handling skills driving the lane, but I think I agree with the others that Ced may have had the better chance. If Dru hadn't have been fouled out, I would have given him the nod.

First of all Dials is not overrated. He is what he is, a shooter and a defender. Just so you know NO shooters have a great game night in and night out. We all know that when he is not having a good game he's not going to hit shots he should. Why the HELL did he get the ball over Ced. Middleton is by far the best creator on the team and by the box score he looked to be playing well. Secondly whoever said the regular season doesn't matter is an idiot. Had we won last night and possibly pulled off an upset over Texas Tech, hello at large bid. Look at some of the mid-majors last year that got bids. Many of them beat only one or two big name schools. This year we had a shot at Bob Knight and revenge on Nevada. With those two wins and a MAC regular season championship we would have gotten an at large bid. We had a shot at the Top 25 this year. We already had a couple votes preseason. So with our tradition of sucking at tournaments this regular season would have been perfect for an at large bid. The season's definately not over, we still have a shot to make a splash this year if we play to our potential.GO ZIPS!!and :screwks::screwks::screwks:

you get an automatic bid by winning the MAc tourney, you wouldn't need an at-large bid in that case.as long as we both realize that :screwks:

FYI - He stated we could win the regular season MAC title. He stated we stand a decent chance of faltering in the post-season due to our past history. Can't argue with that logic.

my whole point is that it's one game not the end of the world. you said if we could have beat u alr,and texas tech, neveda, we would get an autmomatic bid.we did not so it does not matter. if we win the mac tourney were in. if you think playing well in the regular season gets an automatic bid it does not.we could win 22 games this year, lose in the first round, and not make the ncaa tourney. we win the mac tourney were in. in that's simple.

I honestly think this game was a good thing. Hopefully the coach recognizes where we need to improve, and focuses on those areas before the conference play starts. The only way we will dance is by winning the MAC tournament, or winning the rest of the OOC schedule and losing in the MACC finals. I don't know where I saw this, but I remember reading something where coach KD was looking foward to Texas Tech and just assumed we would beat UALR. If that is true then we are having the same pre-season hype problems as the football team. Hopefully I am wrong but if I am not, hopefully this loss knocked some sense into the team and coaches before it is too late.
