All I can say right now is WOW! The Zips win this one BIG! I'm sure no one here thought we would hold WMU under 40 points. That's just insane. How many rebounds did J. Wood have? I think he's back to the J. Wood we remember from high school. That's a good thing.Quade had 6 blocked shots in the first half, I think. That's awesome.I loved the "Rome" sign. Look out for more new signs at the next home game.On the topic of signs, the Druuuuuuuuuuuu thing was great. How did the Rowdies look/sound on TV? I know we sold out both lower sections.I'll add more later. What did everyone else think?

My thoughts...- Great game from Wood. 8 points, 17 boards (7 offensive)...just a huge game inside- Also a big game from Romeo. I think making him ride the bench a few games really woke up him. - Dials FINALLY gets hot...very good game for ND- Another game of me not being overly impressed with Nate Linhart. His out of control floaters get old, and he doesn't do much offensively. He does rebound well and plays excellent defense - he'd be a great role player off the bench. - Conyers looked good with 6 points/4 boards...I still think he's got more upside than Linhart in the 3 spot. - You could tell Quade was trying to get on top plays lolSolid game all around. I wish it would've been a bit more exciting to catch the attention of fans around the nation, but I'll still take an ass whopping over a MAC opponent any day. :thumb:

Jeremiah "The Eraser" Wood had 17 boards. Travis had 17 points. Not only did we hold them to under 40, but we almost doubled them up! :thumb: I have to give it to the ROWDIES....they looked and sounded great. Nice job everyone especially on TV. I was at the game sitting right in the middle of the WMU section :D so I was near the ROWDIES.I couldn't catch the final attendance, but I know Frenchy said it was over 4,000. GA on the side was full. South GA 3/4 full and North GA half full. The Rome sign was completely awesome. There has to be a story around that sign!! :champs::champs::champs::screwks::screwks::screwks:

Good posts, some more thoughts1. We continually shut down or at least are not killed by the other teams best player.2. Our team D is the best in the league or at least is even with Miami.3. The team that KD has developed is so flexible that we match up well with just about anyone in the league. Different guys may contribute but someone is always ready.4. I hold my breath whenever J Wood goes down. And Rowdies, how about a hey, Wood, baby! to show #21 some love.5. Keep talking about the streak at home. Other teams should feel they have no chance coming into the JAR.6. It is amazing how you are watching the game and it seems pretty even, you look up at the scoreboard and we are always up by 8-10 points more than you thought.7. Still comes down the the tourney. Someone could be sick, someone has a bad shooting day, we know there are no guarantees. But I don't see a better team than us. We are good and we know that we are good. Just keep burying everyone. I want them to know they have no chance in Cleveland. How much better can we play?

Nothing like completely slaughtering a league opponent on national television :cheers:Just checked out a great stat on ESPN. Two great defensive stands by the Zips in this game, one at the beginning, and the other at the end. From tip off to WMU's first field goal, was a span of about 6 minutes. From WMU's last field goal to the end of the game was 5 minutes. Combined that's an 11 minute stretch allowing just 1 point, a free throw. Great defense today!

J. Wood was a man possessed tonight. Many of those rebounds he pulled down were extremely hard fought. He was hustling all night as well. I am always impressed by a guy whose team is up by over 20 points with just a few minutes left in the game diving for balls with reckless abandon.Great effort tonight. Linhart may have been ill but he took quite a shot in the mouth early on that impacted his play.Great effort by just about everyone, even if we were playing an inferior opponent.Rowdies---you were super...lots of energy!! Go Zips!!

The lower reserve east being half full on national TV was embarassing. If it was sold out, why not let student move down from GA North and fill in. If the ticket holder shows then relocate the students. Pathetic.
I was sitting in the upper reserved and thinking the same thing. Why not let people from the GA sections move down to the blue seats? If the person with the ticket shows ups, the people who moved down go back to GA.What's wrong with that? Am I missing someting?I had a great time at the game tonight. A lot of fun...fantastic to see MY school win in such a convincing fashion.Everyone keeps talking about Toledo. I want to see Toledo beat us before they start talking smack.

Brief thoughts:- The D today was outstanding in the first half .. and pretty darn good in the second half. If the Zips can hit a stride where they come to defend like that night in & night out, they're going to be tough against anyone they play the rest of the way.- It's clear to me that Rome & Wood are getting used to being out there together again. Both guys are looking for the other on the weak side & the interior passing by both was pretty nice today. In conference, anyway .. there's only one team that has horses to defend that & it's OU. WMU was powerless today.- Nice to see Jimmy step into Nate's minutes & not disrupt things. On the offensive side of the ball he's got some work in front of him (I mean relating to the plays & system, not his skills), but defensively, he's there right now. His guy got a bucket in the first half when he moved over to double the guard, but I think it was a slow rotation from the baseline guy that left him open. Man to man, Jimmy is more athletic & has quicker hands than anyone I've seen him guard yet. Should be a nice player to watch.- Dials was tough today .. nice game.- McKnight can flat out play. I used to say that about CM when he was a freshman, and I might be more sure of it with the new CM.- Cedrick is always $$$.- It only took 25 minutes for WMU to realize they couldn't drive the hole going away from Milum. Maybe some of the easiest blocks of his career.- This could have been much worse for WMU. But what could make this Zips team special is that they don't need to be clicking all out on offense to build a lead. If they continue to defend as a team and have 7(+2) interchangeable parts, they should be able to withstand a bad night by Rome or Wood .. or anyone. By no means was the first half a good one offensively, but when you hold a team to 13 points, you're going to be winning.- I remember a game in a blizzard against CMU @ the JAR a couple of years ago where the Zips came out firing on all cylinders & blew the Chips out of the building early & often. I enjoyed this one even more because it came as a result of solid defensive play. Defense wins championships.

I bought a lower level season ticket this year, great seats. The seat immediately to my left has been used exactly 1 time, the 1st half of the Can't game. Then the guy left. How about a ticket exchange, if you are not going, donate your tickets back to the university for someone else to watch?

Why not let people from the GA sections move down to the blue seats? If the person with the ticket shows ups, the people who moved down go back to GA.What's wrong with that? Am I missing someting?
Here is why I don't agree. The people sitting in the lower level pay top dollar to sit there. I would guess that most don't want a continuous parade of people coming and going when someone arrives late to the game and there is the constant getting up and down to allow the ticket holder to sit down. Imagine sitting there and people coming up to you continually and saying, "Is someone sitting there?" while you arer trying to watch a game that you dished out $500 to sit in so you could have a good seat and not be bothered by late arrivers who didn't pay what you do. The people sitting there have bought the right not to be bothered with nonsense. Those people should be treated with respect.Secondly, I watched the entire game and the lower level looked full on TV. Unless a person was really paying attention to the tops of the ends, the entire stadium looked full. One of the things I know for sure is that when you give someone something for nothing, they expect something for nothing. UofA has spent decades conditioning the people of the area to expect something for nothing and it needs to stop. If someone doesn't pay to sit down low, they should not get to sit down low.

Great game by the Zips. If Wood's play is a sign that he's getting back into shape, it's bad news for the rest of the MAC.Great to see Dials hit his open looks. He's played his typical solid D as well.I thought the best sign of the night was "U Got Played By Quade!" Quade was a blast to watch last night.Killed BG on the road. Killed NIU on the road. Destroyed WMU at home. Man, if I'm EMU I'm selling blindfolds at the door for the upcoming Zips game. Only the strong will be able to handle the carnage. Nice crowd. I hoped for about 500 more, but with the game on TV I think we did ok.Hope we don't get dicked by the Bracket Buster selection committee. Although we lost @ OU, we're the best the MAC has to offer at this time (sorry Toledo...I've seen the west and it's pretty sorry). We need a premiere MVC team as an opponent.

Great points. For the BracketBuster, I want a tough team. If we are going to lose, I want it to be a good team AND if we are going to win I WANT IT TO BE A GOOD TEAM!! No more cakewalk opponents. Most of the BB teams should be good, but hopefully we get a good challenge. Also, I don't want a West coast team. Sure, we are at home this year, but we have to go there next year...just like Nevada.

agree with the idea of getting unused tix back in circulation, many venues/teams already have this available online so it can't be that hard or expensive. Great game, domination, the only bad thing...just watched my tivoed version and they must have mentioned Lebron's name 50 times during the coverage. Yes its part of the UA basketball story, but a peripheral part, the announcers just wouldn't let it go. All in all a great showing, what about a Colonial Athletic Conference opponent, maybe VCU, for the Bracket Buster? only 3 losses from the conference that gave us GMU last year...

My biggest takeaway from this game was the defense. Akron was switching like it was second nature to them. It's no wonder WMU struggled to score--the screens were ineffective because of the excellent execution. If Akron plays defense like that, winning out isn't just possible, it's probable.
