I hope you're right timmyboy, but I have a feeling he may take a step back this season primarily because the rest of the MAC will be ready for him this year. He was unknown last year and came out of nowhere basically.

Will he win the Heisman??? NoBut any extra atteniton is great for him and the program. If other players of his ability can see the difference he makes maybe they will follow suit and come to Akron.

That's a tall order considering he's going to have two first-year QB's throwing him the ball? It would seem like a better idea to wait until he had a couple seasons under his belt before anointing him a Heisman candidate? Hey, make some signs and have some fun however you can...

If he helps us beat OSU (that's a tall order for any team), then I will personally lead his Heisman campaign. Until he wins us a big game, we have no reason to annoint him as the one who will bring Akron out of football mediocrity. Is he an excellent football player? Yes. Is he good enough to carry the weight of the entire team on his shoulders? I don't know. We'll see just how good he is after this season. Having freshman QBs and a new O-line will certainly challenge him to step up his game. Here's hoping he exceeds all expectations!

David's got phenom ability. But I'm a little apprehensive about how our new starting QB, whoever that may be, is gonna play. Harvey's gotta have passes thrown on target to win the heisman.

Sorry guys but our Zips team doesn't need superstars!! We need good players who are willing to work with the other guys to produce a team. We need leaders! We need guys who inspire others. Football is a chess game and every piece has it's own duty to the whole. Let's not put any of those pieces on a pedestal.

Frye was a senior, and it was a "fun" thing to do. If anyone from the "U" decided to make billboards for a Sophmore, they should be put in a stockade on Jackson Field and pelted with old tomatoes.

Hey, lay off Timmyboy. I think he's just looking for something fun to do. I don't think ANYONE on this board honestly thinks anyone from Akron would/could ever win the heisman. I don't think the Heisman voters would ever pick a mid-major superstar over a BCS star. At least not in today's BCS-biased college football culture.

Thanks blue and gold. I was just messing around bout the heisman thing, but i do hope that he has heisman type numbers this year. I was just trying to give us a positive starting point for this coming season after losing basically our whole OL, QB, DL.
