jerryfairchild
My son Trey Fairchild is interested in the University of Akron to play football. He is just beginning this whole process. I have posted on other boards to get a feel for the fan base. I hear a lot of great things are happening at Akron. Would love to hear from the fans and what they think. Here is a highlight film of my son:http://scoutingoh.com//Trey_Fairchild_Dublin_Coffman.htmThank you for any comments.

Buckzip
Jerry, welcome. I had told some of the posters that we were chatting a little on B-Nuts.I didn't tell them who, just a player from your school. Now that you let the cat out of the bag, come on down and be a Zip.I don't think we have idiots like Trapper, Zaxx, letsrolle and grayhayes here.Posters here will be excited to see your son play. timsum1283
that was some pretty uncanny vision for a junior in HS and the speed was impressive as well. I hope your son makes the right choice in his decision.

Quickzips
^^^^Thanks !!! Trey wants to study law. We were aware of the new facilities and that is exciting. He would love to get an offer from Akron. Jerry,Being in the Law, Courts and Politics (Pre-law) program currently and going to UA Law next year I can say affirmitively that if he is interested in studying law this is a pretty good school to go to. Is he interested in going to Law School some day or is he looking at this in more of a Criminal Justice program type sense where he would like to become a Police Officer or FBI Agent? I'd be happy to answer any questions you guys might have either way. I'm well familiar with the programs, classes and proffesors that he'd be seeing with that. Captain Kangaroo
akron is a much better school then the ones who have offered him, and we are really on the rise. And his opinion isn't biased! FYI - My wife is a graduate of the U of A School of Law. Her twin sister attended OSU's law school. My wife feels that she got the better education, and my sister-in-law (now) agrees. The U of A School of Law does a great job of preparing you for the "real world." It may not be the most expensive in the state, but it may be the best.Hit us up at a Zips tailgate party this fall and she can give you any details you'd like. jerryfairchild
He is not sure about what route he would take, but has expressed interest in the FBI.We just hear a lot of great things and would love to have U of A as an option. Dale Carnegie
The FBI hires a lot of Accountants from what I hear, especially when it comes to detecting fraud. A criminal Justice/Accounting degree would be ideal for the FBI. Akron has one of the best accounting programs in this region.

Seriously though, we need to keep great talent within the MAC. Akron has some impressive facility upgrades coming.

Blue & Gold
We need more FBI agents to investigate programs like Toledo! Just joking! Toledo's a great institution as well.UA's School of Law is one of the finest you will find. I have an acquaintance who is a graduate of the UA School of Law. He finished the Bar Exam with the highest score in the state of Ohio, was employed directly out of school, and is now employed (quite lucratively) right here in our fair city.I also have a friend who is a graduate of UA's accounting program. She was also employed directly out of school, and is now a young and successful accountant out on the west side of town.UA is a great school; Akron is a city in the process of a very real renaissance; and the U is on the cusp of building a truly special athletics program. We'd love for your son to be a part of our community! Also, I must say, that we Zips fans are an awfully loyal group of people. It is exceedingly rare that we EVER get down on ANY student athlete. Of course we all want to win, but honestly, as long as the student-athlete is hustling and giving it his/her all, that's the primary concern and source of pride for most Zips fans. We are absolutely NOT a fair-weather crowd. While on your visit, if by chance you are shown any pictures or architectural renderings of the new football stadium, would you come back to ZipsNation and share with us what you saw?! We are all extremely eager to see what the architects have drawn up and for our new stadium to be built!

We just brought in two 3-star receivers and a 3-star running back that can also play the slot receiver in this last recruiting class at Toledo, and only have two seniors at receiver this fall so we are probably being very selective before we will pick one or two receivers to go after hard. jerryfairchild
We would love Akron to offer, not sure why they have not, in a way. we really thought they were close. Maybe not, they say they are very interested. In regard to Toledo, you may be right with your assesment
