I read an article on Greg Jennings (WMU) on ESPN and it got me to thinking there are some pretty good MAC players in the NFL so I did a quick run through the rosters to see what an All-MAC NFL team would look like. Every team but Temple has someone on an NFL roster (even Buffalo) and 51 players were represented (though some were probably pratice squad players). Only a handful of NFL teams didn't have any, Miami had the most with 4. We're a little thin in some positions (I had to do a 3-4 defense since there is only one DT) and I didn't count any UCF nor Marshall players even those that played while in the MAC (Randy Moss is the only one I would have added anyway). Here is my list, not as strong as I would have thought, what do you think?OffenseQB - Roethlisberger - PIT - MiamiRB - Taylor - MIN - TolRB - Turner - SD - NIULT - Shelton - MIA - EMULG - Bell - TENN - MiamiC - Ghiaciuc - CIN - CMURG - Mruckowski - GB - BGSURT - Staley - SF - CMUTE - Gates - SD - Can't StateWR - Jennings - GB - WMUWR - McCareins - NYJ - NIUDefenseNT - Muir - GB - Can't StateRDE - Taylor - AkronLDE - Babin - SEA - WMULB - Blackburn - NYG - AkronLB - Campbell - WASH - BGSULB - Harrison - PIT - Can't StateLB - Guzman - IND - BuffaloCB - Young - NO - Can't StateCB - Perry - MIA - EMUS - Smith - MIN - AkronS - Elam - NYJ - Can't StateSpecial TeamsPK - Suisham - BGSUP - Zastudil - CLE - OhioKR - Cribbs - CLE - Can't State

The one guy that I would not have expected to see but am glad for him is Blackburn. Good college player, but I am pretty surprised that he is carved a career out. The DT issue make sense, no one can get big Dlinemen in the MAC. Thanks for putting this together.

:D speakin of Jason Taylor...any thoughts on the Browns trading to bring him here...it would have to be a trade since he is still under contract....I know..I know he probably doesn't look like a fit for a 3-4 but a pass rush might be worth some sacrifice...

Hollis Thomas is a DT for the saints out of NIU, I would put him on in place of Muir. Raheem Brock (Temple) has had a Good career for the Colts at DE, and could be inter changable with Babin. Temple also has Dan Klecko (DL Colts) and Jason McKie (FB Chi). Nixk Kazur (OT Toledo / NE) would make a great backup too. Toledo has 7 players listed on active rosters...ESPN's player index can be sorted by school ===> LINK

I have heard stuff about Parcells talking to Romeo. Miami needs a quarterback and we need a pass rusher and run stopper. Anderson (and maybe another scrub) for Jason Taylor would give Cleveland that extra DL they needed. I hope we can get something done with that. I would love the Browns even more than I do now.

Gates and Taylor = Hall of Fame material.
I don't know about Gates. The way he is playing now, yes.If Taylor retired today, he isn't just a HOF player, he is a first ballot HOF player. He is probably one of the top 20 players in the NFL in the past ten years. Too bad he plays for such a poor team.
