ZachTheZip
If we play anything like we did at Dayton, we should win this one. The thing is, Miami's style of play destroys Akron's rythm and causes frustration. I can only hope that Dambrot has finally found a way to counter that. GoZips
Good point, uakronkid. Kansas found the key to destroying Miami. We can follow suit and roast them the same way. We have the tools.
GoZips
Miami is a dangerous team. However, their win over Illinois is not so great after all. Illinois lost a few nights ago to Tennessesse State who earlier lost to the Zips.I just hope the AK-Howdies show up in force and make the Deadhawks miserable. Perhaps I might even restore the AK-Rowdie moniker if they succeed.

Illinois lost a few nights ago to Tennessesse State who earlier lost to the Zips..I agree that a win over Illinois is not a huge deal, however beating Xavier is very impressive. have you seen Xavier lately? They look awesome. The Miami game is always my favorite game of the year, the last four in this series have gone down to the last possession and thats what makes this match up so great for the spectator. Every possession is important, every basket is hard earned and meaningful. Tim Pollitz is a freaking beast and must be contained.I'll call it Akron 55Sweaters 52GO ZIPS!! akronzip12345
Akron 65Miami 70I predict Akron will start strong, maybe a lead into half, but we will fall into our curse and play sloppy second half and it will be close until the end of the game when Miami will catch momentum in the last few seconds and make the game seem like it wasn't as close as it was... ZachTheZip
Anybody have the official attendance numbers? We may have had a sellout crowd. There were at least 120 Rowdies that showed up.

UAZips
Wow! What a night! We went from a 23-19 defensive festival to a 41-19 halftime bitch-slapping! I LOVE IT!I sat and chatted with a relative (uncle I believe) of Brett McClanahan for a while before the game, the family had made the trip up from Charleston. It was his first game in the JAR and afterwards was smiling from ear to ear. He picked a good night to come up!Also, props to my alma mater Mogadore for not only singing the national anthem, but sitting in the north end student seats and being loud and into the game! Blue & Gold
Tonight I believe I also saw a high school junior whom we're recruiting named Zeke Marshall. (I think that's his name.) He's from the same high school as McNeese. He's 6-11, 210 lbs. and has also been offered by Virginia & Virginia Tech. He picked a great game to come check out our program! Go McNeese! Go Zippers!
