Tom Stacy to Green

I wonder why the change? It's not like he had a bad record there. And I am sure Massillon would pay him more money than Green. The real reason could be this sex scandal thing going on. It could be worse than we all know. So far a cop, a teacher, a coach, and an Ohio State Recruit have been busted at these sex parties.
That is some major speculation. I don't think anyone should get their name dragged around without some proof. He might have changed for a million different reasons. At this point, I don't think it fair to assume that these two events have anything related.

How is it major speculation? I didn't mention any names I am just saying that if I was the football coach at Massillon, and already had 1 coach fired for having sex with an under aged girl, then a high profile player of mine gets nailed for the same thing. And it is common knowledge that the police in massillon are still investigating these sex parties. I wouldn't want my name associated with that crap, I would look elsewhere for employment. You maybe right that there could be a million other reasons, but with all things considered I think it is a smart move.

Tom Stacy press conference at Green http://www.massillontigerslair.com/
Does anyone know what happened to Elden Vickers at Green?? Man -- my first experience with organized sports was with the Green JHS 7th grade football, and that was Mr Vickers' first year coaching and teaching at Green. About 1971! Hey -- maybe he retired. That's longer ago than I want to imagine (or admit). :D BTW -- anyone remember Green track coach Mr Kelly brawling with Walter "No Neck" Williams of the Cleveland Indians basketball team?

Wasn't his name Elden McVicker? I had Mr. McVicker (if I'm remembering correctly) for high school gym class my freshman and sophomore years. He was a good guy. A few years after I graduated he was named head football coach and did a great job! He's the most successful football coach Green has ever had. He was getting up there in years though, so I'm assuming he retired.

I think that he was forced out. I remember reading something in the paper that he was asked to resign, not enough wins.
Wow. That's too bad, because, like I mentioned earlier, he's the most successful coach Green's ever had. I don't think any other coach ever took a team to the state playoffs.
First time they made states was 1975 -- probably before your time. Only about the second year they HAD playoffs. I think they must have been back at least a couple times since then, huh?? Go Bulldogs!

I am a Green resident and my son is involved in the youth football program started by McVickers. http://www.greenfootball.org/index1.asp With that being said, it was time for coach to go. He is too "old school" for todays footbal to take Green to the next level. His style could be described as harsh and I think that is being kind. He also had an annoying practice of only playing around 15 or so players, which resulted in alot of late game collapses. This season he complained how he had no experienced lineman, but they were mostly seniors and juniors who had been with the program and had not gotten ant playing time the season before. I love coach, but it was time to go.
