sgm405
Some of you guys are incredible. Most on this board despise OSU, with the reasoning that they take our recruits and overshadow us in the media...but yet it seems 75% of the board was cheering for Can't last night...?????OSU is not in our conference...they recruit and get 5 star recruits, DIFFERENT players than we go after...we play them once every few years. Can't State IS in our conference...they recruit 1-3 star players, the SAME players we go after. We play them two or three times a year. And to top it all off, they are our bitter rival....and you guys were cheering for them?

Valpo Zip
I was cheering for Can't and i would cheer for every MAC team when they play OOC.Comparing Can't State to OSU is absurd. OSU takes away media time, fan support and mainly make people feel that they are the only team that matter in the state. No matter how successful OSU is, we do not get anything out of it because they will never come play us at the JAR.On the other side, Can't may take away recruits and fan support but they will never be considered the only team that matters in the state. Moreover, the main thing is that even if Can't become the number 1 team in the country, they will come to the JAR year in year out and play us. So we will have the chance to beat a ranked team. We had countless threads on this board discussing scheduling. We all agreed that the weak conference schedule makes our SOS even worse. We all wanted the conference to become better, right? Now that somebody in the conference is having success (it is Can't allright), why are we changing our minds? The best scenario i can ask for is having a strong conference with ranked teams every year. Look at what Butler did to the horizon league. Recruits may decide to go to a horrible team like YSU over the mac just to get the chance to play against Butler every year.In a nutshell, OSU's success has a lot of disadvantages and no advantage whatsoever. Can't's success has some disadvanatges but a lot of advantages as well.

Valpo Zip
Zipsbandman, with all respect, that's not a valid argument. Are you basically saying that you want the rest of the MAC to suck so that they stay in the MAC?Did you see Butler moving anywhere? Why can't we see the MAC growing as a conference? I don't see it happening though because their football program and facilities are so far behind ours.
RootforRoo44
I'm still in a little shock that people are rooting for Can't period.Do you people forget that they threw bags of urine and rocks at our troops?!They are so anti-American that they would vote for a Clinton TWO times if they could! KSUflash07
Come on now, that comment was a little out-landish. None of those student that were there are here now. Can't State is actually very split on its poltical ideologies, you would be surprised to know that its about 50% conservative and 50% liberal here at Can't State. johnnyzip84
I despise Can't as much as anyone, but this was a good win for the conference period. It keeps alive the only shot (slim perhaps) for two MAC teams dancing this year. PLUS, I believe this win over St. Mary's signals the end of Jim Christian at Can't. I know I know, Waters/Heath/Christian with little, if any drop-off, but I'll take my chances with a new guy, particularly with KD now having established his own winning tradition here.It was a nice showing for the MAC, BUT this doesn't change the fact that
apalmison
Interesting thread. I agree that Can't winning certainly helps the conference as a whole, but it may also be a boon to their recruiting. Perhaps these two points are not entirely incompatible. Increasing the status of the conference would be a boon to ALL of our recruiting - just maybe more so to Can't in the short term. Either way, I'm not worried. Seems to me that KD's building this program the right way.Go Zips!

I wish they would've lost by 75 points out on the west coast. I will NEVER root for them. The teams we need to root for are the bottom 2/3 of this conference that cant seem to break the mighty 250+ RPI barrier. The MAC doesnt receive minimal respect because of the K.e.n.t.s, Akrons and Ohios of the Conference. It lacks respect because of the Buffalos, EMUs, Ball States, and CMUs of the league. If you're gonna root for the MAC, root for the ugly part of the conference. Until these guys start doing something, the MAC will remain a very middle-of-the-pack league. w00t
Can't is now officially ranked #23 in the country, per the AP Poll.Well I know I'm excited!!! This is great news for the MAC!!! Casual Friday will be extra special this week because I'm going to wear my MAC t-shirt to work and tell everyone "Did you hear? The MAC has a team in the Top 25!!! What? Well, no, not my team, I went to Akron... and have a poster that says 'Zippy's #1 on my office wall... and have been known to e-mail the picture of the crying Can't State cheerleader to the Can't State grads on our sales team after we beat them in football or basketball... but the least I can do for my conference is look like an ass by trumpeting the success of a team that makes me want to vomit." meatwad
College Basketball Bubble WatchPass or fail time for teams still on the bubbleAndy GlocknerESPN.comThank you, Can't State. Glad to see some team finally gets that you are supposed to win your way into the field of 65, not just lose fewer games than the rest of the bubble brethren. The Golden flushes clearly were the big winners of the BracketBusters event. They had the most at stake entering Saturday and now have every right to expect strong at-large consideration, if needed. This is from espn.comCan't is already taking national media press. I still can't believe anyone here wanted them to win. Ridiculous.
