Captain Kangaroo
I believe they're placing the fiberglass covers on the seats and removing the bathroom stall doors this week! Can painting the urinals be far behind?!

Quickzips
I SEE GOAL POSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I think now the question is whether or not we will have a kicker who can consistently put the ball through them.
ditchrider1
I SEE GOAL POSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I see we will be slowing our opponents down by playing on a sleek new gravel field...awesome!That is cool, I see the scoreboard work being done as well. Wonder why they need to test out the goalposts?
zen
I SEE GOAL POSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!wow I did not expect them quite yet. I didn't think about it, but I guess I figured the field would go in first.

Wonder why they need to test out the goalposts? There a couple of new HS's being built one near where I live and one near where I work and both are having the field turf installed and the goalposts are up and they're about the same stage as info with the gravel being brought in. I guess they just want the posts up as I've seen other schools here in Metro Atl that switched from grass to field turf and they took their goalposts down while the field was being installed. I love seeing the support for the Jumbotron going up as well.

It would be an easy shameless way to make some cash for the university. Better than selling off the urinal troughs!

Bleacher Bum
Speaking of turf...I would like a area rug made from the Rubber Bowl turf...wonder if the would consider making/selling them?We used to have wall-to-wall turf in our basement my first year on campus. There were giant piles of it when they redid the practice field so we took a few rolls. It ended up on our front porch for a couple of years after that. A tax exempt entity making a charitable contribution to capture a tax deduction. It's so big, it is almost impossible to calculate the tax benefit. No in the view of bond raters the stadium and turf are liabilities that we have on the books, a possession that has a value and a maintanence cost and therefore counts against what the University holds, whether we use the turf or keep it up or not it remains a liability on the books until we can dump it on someone else. I never mentioned anything about a tax benefit.

I never mentioned anything about a tax benefit.Sorry for the misunderstanding. I have never heard the unique phrase "write off for the books" before, so I thought you were talking tax write off. As you point out, the Rubber Bowl is something the University owns, not owes, and is therefore on the books as an asset, not a liability. Maintenance costs are an expense and reduce revenue; expenses do not "count "against what the University holds" (i.e., assets). Gee, this accounting talk is fun. ZachTheZip
Looks like they're bricking up the wall that will go underneath the upper deck on the West side. Hopefully this means they will be putting in the rest of the stands soon.
OldZipFan
Looks like they're bricking up the wall that will go underneath the upper deck on the West side. Hopefully this means they will be putting in the rest of the stands soon. While I was at the open house this evening, too pick your seats, I stopped too talk with with the project manager, and he said that the rest of the stands would be installed, starting in ten days. They will start from the north side of the tower, and work south towards Exchange Street. What looks like brick underneath the upper deck on the west side, is actually particle board. He said he has 300 men working 3 shifts per day. He said that he was a little disappointed that his men were behind schedule on installing the green glass at the top, but was confident that they would catch up. Other then that, he said everything is all schedule, and will be ready before opening day.

RowdyZip
So is the turf going in tomorrow then? Or at least some of it? I'd hope they'd have some or most installed by the last open house on Sunday. I'd really like to have a better idea of the views by then...P.S: I took a hike up to the site on my lunch hour today and took some nice photos of the outside and scoreboard supports. It gives a little better scale than the webcams. Those of you that are my facebook buddies can view em now, the rest of you have to wait until tomorrow when I get a chance to upload them on here
