RowdyZip Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 full article hereC'mon Browns, pick him up! I can safely say (albeit still unbelievable to me) that the Cleveland Browns will be a title contender next year, and nothing would be better than being able to wear a brown-and-orange jersey of the most successful Zip alum in the NFL. If you want it, do it. Who cares? If you go to the stadium you will see Willie Green, Couch, Courtney Brown, etc...What's the difference if you make your own or wear some losers jersey? In todays f'ed up nfl system, I would respect you more for that, than blindly buying the next first round pick's jersey just because they have it at Dick's and the some clown on WKNR tells Browns fans that "Quincy Morgan is a steal at the top of round two" so Brown fan runs out and buys his jersey. They have a ton of really nice, stitched Charlie Frye Browns jerseys if you're interested. $9.99. Quote

The vast majority of people don't know that Taylor played at Akron. It could open a lot of eyes to folks around here that not only do we have a division one program, but it does put out some quality players. It would be perfect timing with the opening of ICS as well. A lot of folks think Akron only populates the NFL with Charlie Fryes.Oh, and I do have a Courtney Brown Orange jersey and a Chuck Frye jersey (as a lot of folks on here do, but most won't admit). Maybe I should hurry and pick up Brady Quinn too? Quote
Zipsrifle Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 I have 2 Frye Jerseys, one 5 and one 9. I'm not gonna sit here and defend him as a top notch starting NFL QB, because he had the chance and didn't prove it. On the other hand, I do firmly believe he was a scape goat last season and kept Romeo in charge. Anyway, back to JT, does he downplay his association with UA or is he pretty much like any other player? I always hope to see him with a zips hat or shirt or something on, but that is never the case. Seemed like he got out of town pretty quickly a few years ago when we retired his # too. I don't know the whole story, but I would love for him to successfully finish his career in Cleveland and do for the football team what LBJ had done for the BB team. Quote
Dr Z Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 Packers now interested in JTThe Dolphins say they want Jason Taylor to play one final season in Miami, but that reportedly hasn't stopped the Green Bay Packers from continuing to check on his availability. The Green Bay Press-Gazette and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel are reporting that the Packers have called the Dolphins to check if the team is willing to deal the star defensive end. The Packers also inquired about Taylor before April's NFL draft. And a source in South Florida told the Journal Sentinel that, despite Taylor's insistence earlier this month that he's willing to play in Miami in 2008, he has only pushed harder for a trade from the only team he has ever played for. GP1 Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 If you go to the stadium you will see Willie Green, Couch, Courtney Brown, etc...Don't forget the popular Chris Spielman jersey. My wife and I used to bet on how soon we would see one while walking to games. I think people still wear them. The guy never played a regular season down. Quote
