Well Can't has a fashion school that's tops from what I hear

Name a college they have better than what we have in the following areas. I'm not talking about outside perception. I'm talking actual faculty, research and quality of graduates. Engineering (I've actually never met anyone with an engineering degree from Can't. Do they even have an engineering school? We have an entire glass tower for one type of engineering.) Education Nursing (ask any doctor around NE Ohio and they will tell you how good the nursing program at Akron is) Business (Can someone point out all of the great business leaders around NE Ohio that went to Can't or got an MBA from Can't. NE Ohio is full of business leaders from UofA.) Arts and Sciences (They don't have anything resembling the Bliss Institute) How is their law school doing? The day we combine athletic programs with Can't will be the day I completely tune out. If they want to combine non research, education, admissions and athletics, then fine. Lots of states have co-op buying programs...Texas and Michigan have them and they work pretty good.

I think the only thing you need to worry about with him is his growing tendency to force shots in the paint. Maybe he feels he needs to take over, as other reliable low post options have dwindled in the last couple of years. He's going to increasingly continue to get blanketed down there, in which case he needs to improve on his decision making...and others need to pick up the slack. I don't want to bring up the disaster in the 2nd half against WMU in March, but it's a great example of what can happen to us if Tree is determined to take shots, regardless of the situation.

I noticed EA was referring to an old forecast when I read his column last night. In his defense, the forecast has changed dramatically over the last few days because I’ve been monitoring it pretty closely. I have been more in the camp that thinks we’ve struggled to run the last few games as opposed to the camp that thinks we’ve simply refused to run. However, I think the Zips ought to have a little more patience against the Bulls who really struggled against the run versus OU. Here are a few predictions: U@B players will be wearing uniforms with a patriotic theme for Veteran’s Day. UA will set a season high in rushing yards, and numerous players (CH34, JC7, DJ25, AD12) will get in the act. UA will win the turnover battle, with JB1 being especially instrumental. Duff’s will have better wings than the Anchor Bar. A piece of Reggie Corner will make an appearance on the U tonight. 31-20 Zips Win!!!

With Bowden as the head coach of Akron, and AD who aren't has trigger happy as a lot of the members here appear to be, Bowden will get us there. Mark my words. I won't put a time frame on it, other than that Bowden will be the best Akron coach D-I Akron football. Not only will he dig this program from the dredges of College football, but he'll make it a competitor and a regular winner. I'm tired of the freak-out sessions on this forum. There's very good reasons that this is likely to happen so long as ADs and people in power don't panic. This team is trending upwards. 2-3 more seasons (or less) we will be where we all want to be. I've said it about a million times: Bowden is here to stay...he will retire from here, and he wants to build something special at Akron. Nothing is more special than a program that has never won 8 games in one season, getting to 8+ and beyond. No, because it's standard coach speak. There's nothing to address. Trying to read too much into it yields things like the Pohl non-existent QB controversy.

I guess that I can not picture David Meves or Jake Fenlason taking a penalty kick after 2 overtimes. both goalies were kickers in Indiana-Northwestern battle quite exciting I have never seen a PK shootout....where both goalies kicked penalty kicks.... Indiana #2....in country ....but 6th seed in big ten tourney...at #3 seed northwestern Indiana leads 4-2 in Pk's... Northwestern's 4th kicker has to make or it is over NW uses their goalie for 4th PK...he makes it.... NW goalie goes back in goal...saves the 5th kick from IU... NW makes 5th kick to tie it at 4-4 IU goalie....takes the 6th kick...and makes it NW 6th kicker shoots wide of the goal...IU wins 5-4 I hope that Ohio State can knock off IU in the semis....that will help the zips in RPI...very rare...that a zips fan says go , bucks in soccer

Dear god Zips fans are delusional. The product we have now is the best football product we've had in 5+ years, and NOW we're freaking out? What on earth is going to happen when we go 10-2 and win the MAC championship and get into high bowl game? I say that folks, because that's where Bowden is taking us with or without your support. I don't like losing either guys, but (I think it was Zipmesiter or Dr. Z) who snapped me back to reality after I vented during the Ohio game...don't put so much emotion on college athletics. (who ever that was, thanks for the reality check ) These boys are 18-22 years old for god sake! I'd bet the average age here is at least double that! Support the University through it's athletic program, or don't. Are we Zips fans now going the way of State Ohio University? Are we forgetting that this is about community and fellowship amongst each other? It's not just about winning, though winning is nice. We're still in the midst of the best season in nearly a decade of football. Stop the freaking doom-and-gloom.
