  1. Reading ZN.o this season it's obvious that one area they can improve on is the tailgating situation in regards to lot #9. If you could purchase a reserved space for an additional fee on top of what you already pay for parking what would it be worth? With a reserved spot you could show up when it's convenient for you and never have to worry about some Marshall or Can't fan being parked in your spot. If you wanted, you could buy multiple spots. I understand that the athletic department and others at UA want to improve the tailgating experience for Zips fans starting next season. I also know that the powers that be read ZN.o to get a feeling of what the fans want and need to make them happy. If you have other suggestions that I didn't include in my post them here.

  2. Bowden and his staff have had 2 years to convince kids to come play for what was, the worst team in 1A football. How many true freshman played this year? That's right 0, outside of the place kicker in the first 2 games. So, you basically have 1 year of his recruiting class and the best transfers he could scrounge up. Akron had years of horrible recruiting and you want overnight results. It just doesn't work that way. Even the not so great MAC teams we faced this year had the leg up with years of better recruiting. Just because it isn't happening on your schedule doesn't mean it isn't happening. I think next year we will be better and the year after is when we really turn the corner to becoming a truly dominate MAC team. If Bowden had let previous coaching recruits go, who would he have played? True freshman who weren't ready? Kids coming from HS need that first year to acclimate to the move from HS to college. A few can get by but find me a coach who wouldn't rather red shirt freshmen. They have time to adjust mentally and get bigger, stronger, and faster. While there are a few people who were expecting instant gratification here, most rational people understand that convincing a kid to play here, in from, of a few thousand fans, versus teams that have been going to MAC Championships and bowl games is not an easy task. The fact that Bowden has brought in the quality recruits that he has is pretty remarkable - it's been almost like selling swamp land. It's going to take a little time and he isn't interested in building a 1 and done team, he wants to build a program.

  3. I've exhausted my writing (and voting) on Kyle. I wish him luck, but my opinion has remained unchanged since my original evaluation last year at this time. He did nothing this year to change that. • Tra'Von needs to be coach Bowden's next Janoris Jenkins. • The offensive playbook should be rebuilt. • We need a RB and WR that put some fear in opposing defenses. A lot of offseason processes should be set in place now. The staff has to really hyperfocus on the three above issues.

  4. So far this is how our schedule looks like on RPI: Binghamton (301) N. Kentucky (289) N. Iowa (87) Valsparaiso (106) Belmont (175) Siena (76) Upcoming teams: Morehead St. (56) Bethune-Cookman (263) UCF (117) YSU (69) WMU (66) Go Zips! Mes, if the Zips keep it up I'm going to start "Lady Zips" threads for each game. It's time we start generating some excitement about this team. Old Folk, y'all need to get out to the games! Go Zips!

  5. Another area that they can improve: When they have live music venue playing at ZipsFest (which is a nice addition, I'll give them Kudos for trying to make I more of a family event), make sure that the muscisians are DONE PLAYING WHEN THE BAND TAKES THE FIELD! There were three times (that I counted) where the stupid live music bands were playing at the same time the Band was. It was obnoxious and is kind of disgraceful when they're playing at the same time as our fight song. It's almost like playing music over the loud speakers while the band is on the field. Change that.

  6. All these alternate uniforms that are polluting college football are the epitome of the style over substance epidemic that plagues our society. Just because Oregon started all this due to their unique relationship with Nike doesn't mean it's a good idea for everyone else to copy. . .and everyone else is copying. Those cool ass gold chrome helmets? Yeah. Baylor did it. Washington did it. South Florida did it. Hell, even Tulsa got in on it. Black unis? UMass, Fresno State, Western Kentucky, Air Force, Memphis, Kentucky, North Carolina, Maryland, Arizona State, Stanford, Boise State, Ohio, North Carolina State, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Washington, UCLA, Ball State, Baylor, Duke, Miami, Northwestern, Brigham Young, Hawaii & Texas A&M all thought that was a good idea too and I could probably name twice that many. I'll give Oregon a free pass because they invented it and BECAUSE THEY WIN. Everybody else? Just stop already. It's played out. Whenever I see Alabama on tv, they look like Alabama. I like that.

  7. Only the "we are going to confuse PSU by wearing white" post made me laugh more in this thread. Hard to believe nobody posted that the flashy gold helmets got us the win at Heinz field because the reflection of the sun got in the eyes of the defenders.

  8. Non-conference schedule against REAL DI teams means nothing except the AD gets a check in the mail. We saw what a win at Pitt meant for this program this season. We saw what a win at NCState meant against Amato's boys in 2006. We saw what a 'close loss' meant at Michigan again except paychecks for the AD. Penn State,Wisconsin,OSU etec. etc. Meaningless except for the $$$$$.
