  1. Can't game needs to be played early in the season - maybe 1st conference game? Either Buffalo or Ohio could be played on "Rivalry Week." I'd bet Ohio's rivalry with us is more intense than their rivalry with Miami is. I know they're right up there with Can't for me. I love to hate Ohio. And I'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual.

  2. I actually think this rotation will change a lot throughout the season. And as for Ivey I believe he will play a lot more minutes as he learns this system. Especially on this road trip, were going to need Ivey's points and athleticism. And to me josh is a good ball handler but his pockets got picked four times last night, so he definitely go to get better if we want to win on this road trip. And truthfully we played real sloppy last night as a team, I think KD will get the team ready

  3. Hip Zip...you're right about the Full Court. Initially, it seemed like token pressure most of the time, but they really locked in after the ball crossed half court. We actually did a pretty good job of utilizing the big men in the middle of the floor in the backcourt. That's usually the key to keeping the ball moving, and avoiding getting trapped against the sidelines. That may have had something to do with making their backcourt pressure look fairly ineffective.

  4. I posted this a while back and got no responses: Members519 posts0 warning pointsPosted 04 November 2015 - 06:52 PM Zipgrad01, on 04 Nov 2015 - 12:13 PM, said: I don't want to stoke the fire but I am interested to understand the statement of the staggering lack of talent in the upcoming classes ........... How do you gauge that ? Some names like Lane,Wolfe, Woodson, Williams, Ritz, Erickson, Van Edwards, Cooper on Offense ................... Pittman, Marcus, Boxen, Scott, Guiser, Gilbert. Bell, Rachel, Hope on defense. This year's Freshmen and RS freshmen names may not stick out too much other than a couple but I;m not sure how to qualify the statement I'm could be wrong, but these guys seem to be pretty talented and have contributed this year. Obviously some big senior losses on the defensive side and the O-line, but do you really think that the above names are a staggering decline in talent ? Maybe young and not much experience, but I'm not sure on the lack of talent How do you come to the statements that recruiting is stagnant and the lack of talent is "staggering" for the upcoming classes ?

  5. The only thing that really concerns me following the game if how we played without Antino on the floor. Noah will be out for a few weeks still, so Williams/Ivey will run the point when Antino is on the bench. The offense didn't click at all with those two as the main ball handlers. Other than that I guess the only other things that need to get better are free throw shooting (as always), Pat stay out of foul trouble, and Big Dog needs to finish at the rim with more success. Some positives are that Reggie looks like his stroke has gotten even better, Jake made some nice hustle plays, and Kwan is becoming a great vocal leader on the floor. Good win, and I feel bad for Gary Waters. That team can't shoot for shit.

  6. Yeah. Know why? Because you're in a bowl. Something Akron has only ever done once, and that was ten years ago. And it sends a message that the team is a bowl team, not a perpetual 1-11 team, like most around the country simply assume we are. If you told most college football fans around the country that Akron is one win away from a bowl game, you'll get lots of funny looks, because the perception of the program hasn't changed yet. A bowl game, even one where you're waxed, is the single best way to shift that perception. Plus, you get an extra month of practice. That's absolutely invaluable.

  8. Warms my heart to read ZN members complaining about a 9 point victory on the road. Now the tough part of our schedule, the home games. Should we wear our road uniforms at home?

  9. Beggars can't be choosers. Would we rather lose to Buffalo and Can't to avoid a tough bowl matchup? I think not.
