  1. Regarding 2015 listee Ray Ray Smith - word on the street is he never made the requisite test scores and decided to go JUCO rather than be a non-qualifier for the Zips. You never know if he gives UA another look, but he's thought to be "an SEC talent" and likely will end up at a P5 program. I thought it was interesting that Bowden said he got a large haul of really good OL's because we'd lost 5 senior linemen this year, The newcomers all felt the Zips situation was their best chance to see the field the fastest. Also - usually the coaches are reserved in discussing which incoming Freshman have the best chance to see the field the fastest, but he stated Davon'te Jest was expected to come in and at least partially fill the void of Rodney Coe's departure. The kid looks like a beast on film. Jo Jo Natson will be a HUGE addition to special teams and the offense. Unbelievable quickness & speed. Natson, Gladney, Lane and Traylor-Bennett...Young and Wolf...Woodson has to be licking his chops! It's gotta be a completely new look for the offense next season. And I would not be too concerned about the RB situation. Word on the street is there are a couple players still to be signed, including a back.

  2. I remember Rachel showing promise early in his career. I believe he tore his ACL on season, and besides that, he has been behind some nice LBs....

  4. Looks like Akron is now listing Kato as 6'1" and 195. Watch Coach Bowden talk about his class here. Coach mentioned Zips signee Alvin Davis school, St Thomas Aquinas. Check out some of the talent in that school.

  7. I'm a pretty close follower of La Liga. The Depo B Fabril plays in the Tercero Division (third division) of Spanish futbol. They have two Canada full national team players, Ben Fisk and Sam Piette on their roster -- possible they may play on Friday vs Klinsmann's lineup. I'm guessing the competition is maybe like USL or lower NASL level (or League 2 of English FA). I tweeted Fisk to see if he knows the whereabouts of Adam. FYI, A Coruna (La Coruna in Spanish) is capitol of the Spanish state of Galicia, a beautiful seaport city of about 250,000 in the NE corner of Spain and Iberia, north of Portugal. The Galiza language, spoken by nearly all people there is closer to Portuguese than the Castillian spoken throughout Spain. If you ever meet anyone with the last name Gallego, you know that their ancestors are from Galicia, as "Gallego" is to Galicia as "American" is to the USA. Maybe Adam called Bryan Gallego for guidance.
