http://www.jardinefh.com/obituaries/William-Berger-4/ The University of Akron Men's Soccer family is deeply saddened by the loss of Billy Berger ('08 - '12), who passed away Sunday, May 28th at the age of 27. While some may have already been informed, we wanted to forward his visitation and service information in the event that they be able to attend his services. Billy was team manager during his time with the Zips, and became an important part of the National Championship team in 2010. Most recently, Billy was the Director of Soccer Operations at SIUE, helping lead them to the NCAA tournament 3rd round this season.

Not a bad weekend in Lexington for the Zips tracksters...tried to keep up with them on-line over the past few days. Phil Jaggers goes to Eugene fin discus or the Finals for the third time, but he's had a habit of letting his big brother from Kent edge him out in head-to-heads. Cody Stine, who was invisible the past few weeks surprised and is going back to Oregon as well, in the high jump. Matt Ludwig goes in Pole Vault as a favorite, I wold think, and Terrell McClain will be long jumping at Nationals. Jackie Siefring was already in as a Hep competitor and Nikki Manson will be in as a high jumper. Six Zips...not bad, but not where they were the past few years. Still...six Zips at the Nationals is pretty damn good!

Along with the incredibly important "Akron University" or "The University of Akron" concerns, I think we really need to make sure he knows Zippy is female. That's paramount. Those are the the top two concerns regarding Zips Football, if you ask me.

At least he correctly referred to us as University of Akron instead of Akron University.
