  1. After watching WMU last week and given what we have seen from the Zip's D its gonna be tough for them to slow down the WMU running game significantly. They have a very physical O-Line and Franklin is a horse. And,they have two other backs who are very effective. Unfortunately the strength of the Akron D aside from Gilbert appears to be the CB's. Does Amato take the chance of trying to put 7 in the box consistently to make WMU throw a bit more and hope the DB's can play head up? What they can't do is commit penalties! No penalties! On the other hand, Woodson is going to have to play his best game. And,the WR's are going to have to give him some room to throw. Gotta have a completion % over 60 so there are not a bunch of '3 and outs'. No turnovers. 0! If Woodson can't find an open receiver he has to throw it away or better yet run the damn ball. He hasn't consistently shown the willingness to do that this season. If Wolf can get himself open and Woodson looks for him Wolf could be a big possession receiver this week. I think the only way Zips run against these guys is off the pass. They might be able to break a couple if they don't try to slug it out with the WMU D-line. Zips O-line isn't capable of that. That said if they could steal this one you might have a 'Novemeber to Remember'. Remember 2007.

  2. I'm not buying the Zips being able to slow down the WMU ground game. The Zips IMO will need to find ways of creating turnovers to have any chance of stealing this game.

  3. Wait. Now I’m really confused. We were so much better of a team because Troy beat LSU and Iowa State beat Oklahoma. Now Troy gets beat by South Alabam. What am I supposed to think now? Heaven forbid Iowa State gets upset by Kansas later on! I will need to go to a head shrinker! HELP!!!!!!!!!

  4. Next level? Haha. Chapman has no chance at the next level. I think the staff has a vested interest in playing their best players. Not sure why anyone here would think otherwise. Chapman needs to catch the ball better, but I'm pretty sure he is leading the team in receptions...........Chapman is also not an outside WR like Stewart is. Look I like what I've seen so far out of Stewart, its also my opinion that he should get some reps if healthy. Before you hate on the staff, how many other staffs gave him a chance to play FBS ball?

  5. I'm just hoping that WMU is physically exhausted after playing a 7OT game. That's seven drives on offense and seven drives on defense. That's like playing an extra half of a football game.

  6. Turned a 30 million deficit into a multi-million surplus, among other things, and people are complaining about him getting a raise. I would like to say I'm shocked but I am not. How dare anyone be fairly compensated for their work

  7. As far as what they are paying Wilson (or any other CEO or leader of a large organization) you have no clue or context to understand what he brings to the table. If you think $450k/yr is big money you are mistaken.

  8. He deserves every bit of that raise. The guy has worked his ass off since taking the Job.

  12. Kwad's shown some nice improvement this year as well, IMO. He made last week's pretty difficult straight over-the-head TD catch (i.e., not over-the-shoulder) look routine. I was impressed with how smooth he was on that play. But I also wish Stewart & Williams would get more PT. Young & Gladney haven't contributed much... and that's putting it graciously.

  13. Actually, I am an avid reader. Actually, I have an open mind. I am just not going to waste my time reading a post about taxes from a guy who said that tax cuts are a handout. Sorry.

  14. Calling out the leading WR who is the best athlete in the position group and has the best YAC potential as well as our best WR (really not even close) in Chapman and Wolf just strikes me as odd.The first guys I'd be complaining about regarding playing time is Gladney, Young, and maybe even Bickley. Then again Wolf didn't play the first 3 games so.......apparently that wasn't enough for any of these freshman to really break into the rotation either. And I'll repeat, I have advocated for Williams and Stewart to get some chances as the guys I've mentioned above have peaked by this time in their career and aren't bringing much to the table. These posts just scream agenda to me.

  16. @Fre5hington24, tell us more about your feelings toward Bowden and Milwee. Just so you know, I am in favor of the best players playing and always have been.

  18. @94zipgrad, you don’t have to apologize for anything but I apologize if I peed you off earlier. This is just a worn out subject on this board but so are a lot of others that I keep rehashing. Go Zips!

  19. Yes. But the billionaire owners aren't. They have a direct motive as I already suggest because it's their pocketbook. Indeed it is. Tax-cuts are handouts. Tax-cuts disproportionately benefit wealthy earners more than lower income earners. So indeed, it's a free-handout for those on the top.

  20. Anybody see the TB Show last week? They interviewed Thomas, AJ and Tra'Von about the QB position and how Thomas plays it. All claimed how well Thomas knew AJ's playbook and what AJ wanted to accomplish. AJ claimed that Thomas knew what he was thinking sometimes before he said it. I would be interested to see what happen if the offense went "hurry up" a series or two where Thomas called the plays. PS This idea would have been way better with MTB in the mix, so he could change personnel without substituting, depending on the defensive personnel.

  26. Not if he's in charge of getting his party to rally behind a massive tax-cut that does directly impact NFL owners (independent of the NFL Tax-Exempt Status). Yes he (Trump) is an idiot, because he doesn't understand that the NFL isn't tax exempt anymore...but you think it's not a step too far for him to say "Eh, any NFL owners who allow this stuff will be excluded from the tax break (some how?)" I mean...he is just crazy enough to suggest such a thing...and rally his twitter base behind the crazy notion...
