  4. https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-soccer-articles/boys-dev-acad-playoffs-standouts:-day-3_aid44260 here is what they said about young Mr. Biros Colin Biros, Crew SC Academy - Biros scored two goals in the first half in the win over Kendall SC. Crew rolled to a 6-2 win over Kendall in a game full of fireworks. The talented midfielder was firmly involved in the attacking third throughout the first half.

  5. Zip_ME87, thanks for all of the great reports Carlo and Colin both picked as outstanding performers on day 3...the writeup on Carlo is incredible https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-soccer-articles/boys-dev-acad-playoffs-standouts:-day-3_aid44260 Carlo Ritaccio, BW Gottschee Academy - The score would have been much worse without Ritaccio on the field for BW Gottschee. He had a spell of a few minutes where he cut off a pass with a great sliding block then played a beautiful outlet pass to the center forward. BW Gottschee lost possession of the ball a minute later and Ritaccio had to pull off a similar manuever to prevent another RSL attack. It was a glimpse into how meaningful he is to his current team and his potential at Akron. Ritaccio is one of those players who could be an immediate impact player in college. He could be the center back for Akron that starts the attack and breaks down teams that try to bunker. He has the skill on the ball and the vision to bring something to the squad to make Akron a title contender.

  7. Here's what I do: For possible bowls (and NCAA MBB regional sites), I book award flights for several destinations because I can cancel without penalty the ones I don't need.

  8. I'm with you guys. The Akron/ISU game holds way more interest for me than the national championship game. I still can't believe the major networks don't get into a bidding war to televise the Zips/Twisty Winders contest, while wasting all kinds of resources on the national title game.

  9. Did anyone else see the Cleveland Force when they played outdoor exhibition games at the Rubber Bowl? Bert Wolstein wanted an outdoor soccer team, but couldn't find a venue, and the outdoor soccer leagues were a disaster during that time. If he had lived we would have an MLS team in northeast Ohio.

  10. Every worker on the site was stealing turf. I knew one of the guys who used it to surround the in-ground trampoline in his back yard. He gave me a nice chunk of it which has been a part of my office decor ever since.

  12. I have seen nothing that says ESPN3 (paid for by the cable companies) will disappear. Some programming may appear on both venues. Initial press release by Disney is confusing to me.

  13. Well when I was there there the airport was empty. Same with the Derby. And there was no signs of life anywhere. Except for Hoppin Frog, which was where my friends and I were attending a party - after a funeral. My perceptions have changed quite a bit since I left Akron 20 years ago, but for me, it was not a good experience being there. I had the opportunity to work all over the most forgotten parts of Appalachia for my job, and many parts of Akron have that same feel of desperation, and hopelessness in the air. I wish Akron the best, but it's not my place anymore.
