  1. Husker fans need to STFU about this game. I get it, they wanted to bust their collective nut over Scott Frost and they got blue balled. But don't blame Akron, Blame mother nature. Akron wasn't scared to play. They were eager to play. The turnaround for a Sunday game would have been terrible. Nebraska would have made the same decision if they were in our shoes. All the talk about Akron wanting to back out of the game is just a lame attempt by their athletic department to not pay us. Husker nation needs to move on. I know it's hard when Nebraska football is literally the only thing to do in the entire state, but they need to try.

  2. Meh. I'm upset too just because I wanted to see my Zips play. The weather robbed us of 1 out of the 12 guaranteed times we get to see them play. It was also a big game too. I'm sure some Nebraska fans feel the same. Plus there is no guarantee they are going to make a bowl and we were one of their easier opponents that could help them get there, though i agree, it wasn't necessarily going to be a gimme W for them. Some of them saying we chickened out or something is just dumb. I hope it gets made up, unless we are playing for a MAC-C.

  6. There is much more to a college education than vocational training. In general, relative to someone with lesser education, a college graduate should be able to: 1) think independently, 2) work within a team, 3) learn throughout life, etc, etc, etc... Again, I am not opposed to cuts or consolidation of programs. It is the hasty way it was done and outside of the context of stable leadership and a clear vision for the future of the University. There is inconsistency in the statements put out about the motivation for the cuts that makes things even more suspect. I am not a partisan, and I actually abhor them. It's unfortunate, particularly as a fellow UA alum, that you find the need to make petty opposition rather than seeing it as a great loss to our common interest.

  7. Looks like we are going to be in the same row and section. I got a steal for $20 for two after stubhub fees. Cheaper than a Zips game!

  9. Bizarre. If the Zips were so bad as to completely drop out of the top 25, how could NC State’s win over the Zips be so impressive as to vault them from 17 to 4 ?

  10. Oops. I thought it was being played in Evanston. Maybe I should just go over there and knock some books off the library shelves. That will get the smart kids all riled up!
