Next year is a new year. We saw what CMU was able to do this season after going 1-11 the year before. A lot of the younger players are going to get bigger and stronger. Coaching staff and players should learn from their mistakes. Recruiting class is good for Akron standards (especially considering the circumstances).33% roster turnover on scholarship players. Let's try not to be too negative about next season until there is a reason to be.

Marshall is 0-3 against the MAC and in those 3 losses they were outscored by a combined 48 points.

The games against Virginia and Yale caught my attention. Everybody knows how good Virginia and their defense is and they hung in there pretty well. Also , losing in OT to Yale impresses me. I've seen Yale play 3-4 times this season and they are very, very good, not your average Ivy program. They play at NC tonight and have a reasonable shot of taking down the Tar Heels. Looks like UMass can play at any tempo so hope we see an entertaining up and down the floor type contest. Akron 75 UMass 70

Marshall just won at Duquesne by 22 to give the Dukes their second lost.

I had to go out of town unexpectedly so I will miss the game tonight. I expect it to be a good one. I think UMass will pose a challenge to the Zips but I expect the Zips to pull out a close one. 84-79.

Losses to Marshall and UAB sadly ended their dream season. They even got one Top 25 vote prior to heading face first into the Conference USA buzzsaw.
