  4. Agree. No 'blowouts' in the MAC. I ignore Tennessee and MSU. Win your opener at home. That helps get some positive attention. Putting out a number of wins isn't always helpful. BUT,it would be nice to win maybe 3 in the MAC with one being KSWho. I want to see a team thats playing noticeably better in November than in September. Still think there are too many questions at key positions, like QB among others to start counting wins.

  5. The answer to your question is yes, the big boys would want a super league playing games against the top 25 week in and week out if the money is there. Money trumps everything in the world of top 25 schools. That has been a reality for the last couple of decades, but the speed at which it has accelerated lately is astonishing.

  6. Very true. It's much more difficult to build a cinderella football team than a basketball team. A school like Akron would need sustained success over multiple seasons to even get to the same talent level as even the mediocre BigTen schools. But at the same time how many teams from the MAC/AAC/MW beat the Mizzou, Syracuse, Kentucky, Northwestern, Purdue, Indiana, Rutgers, Maryland, Minnesotas of the world? Seems like it happens every season. Those schools have one decent season every 10 years and still manage to stay in the SEC or BigTen. Part of me feels like the big guys like Alabama, Georgia and OSU like to have those easy games sprinkled throughout their season. Would they want a super league where every games is basically against a Top 25 team?

  8. Be competitive! Don't get blown out by the top MAC dogs/no 30+ pt spreads in conference. And keep Tennessee and Sparty under the 50 mark while putting up some points, like at least couple TDs against each. Beat the bottom dwellers. Gotta play well vs Bee Gee and Ohio and beat an iffy EMU team at home. Perhaps most importantly, create SOME kind of interest in college football again on campus and in the community. I don't see more than four wins -- which would be progress -- but gotta bring back those casual fans lost by dreary football under the Mistake from JCU. And PLEASE stop playing those games with kick-off at 6 a.m. or earlier in Hawaii Standard Time. Yes, that would be welcome progress! 😊

  9. There have been multiple comments from this staff implying that the previous coaching staff did a poor job or had the players inefficiently conditioned. Can’t really argue that if solely going off the team stats or overall record, but not everything done by the previous staff was poor. I hope this staff - and I think they will - backs up this talk with excellent play in the field. I was going to adjust my thoughts accordingly on a 4 man front scheme, but this is the second article I’ve seen mention a ā€œmultipleā€ front, so I guess I’ll wait and see. Sounds like they still don’t know for sure and are letting what the players do best dictate what will be ran.
