  2. In the 2023 NCAA D1 Women's Swimming and Diving Championship, the Lady Tankers finished in 36th place with 5 points (only 500+ points out of 1st). Senior Weronika Goreka led the Zips scoring raking up 4 points for a 13th place finish in the 200 Back. Junior Maddy Gatrell added 1 point by finishing 16th in the 100 back. The road to quick success for the Zips is obvious. We have to load up on a bunch of trans swimmers who were fairly good competing as men but will blow the swim caps off the competition competing as women. We must act quickly on this because it's only a matter of time before somebody with some common sense prohibits trans from female competition.

  3. I've been to a bunch of Canton Invaders soccer games, Canton Legends football games, and Canton Charge basketball games. Nothing fancy or gaudy. It seemed like we were within 100' of food stands and the exit. Especially when the parking deck on the roof was open. I thought about it every time I drove through Akron to get to Canton to go to games.

  4. No question, it's a great topic, especially in the off-season. I'd love it if the City of Akron had a facility as old and simple as the Canton Civic Center. I love that place.

  6. Remember, the Transfer Portal is actually the Washout Portal. Over half of all players in it never play in college again. Most guys who transfer, and actually play another year, are mostly destined for another year of scout team, followed by another trip to the Transfer Portal which will end their career. College football is a game of routine mostly consisting of tedious practice, even more tedious exercise and worst of all meetings. There are very few days a player is actually playing in a game. Many guys are so accustomed to this routine they cannot see their lives without it. Moreover, they are under a lot of pressure to live the lives others want them to live. I would advise any Zip who doesn't want to play anymore, and only has walk-on offers, to evaluate whether or not they want to really attend college. If they do, stay at Akron, do whatever you have to do to pay tuition and graduate. Do something like the Army Reserves or ROTC because the physical fitness requirements can easily be achieved. It's a great school. There are tons of things to do other than play football. Reality can be difficult, but face it.
