Exactly, if I wanted to watch professional football or basketball, I'd watch the NFL (which I do) or the NBA (which I rarely do). College sports is now trying to mirror professional sports, but frankly the product they offer is inferior. Its lost what made it unique.

Other than following the Zips, I've lost all interest in college football and basketball because of stuff like this. The extreme capitalization is ruinous to so many things. I'm just tired of it.

FWIW, I remember UNC playing at Cleveland State some years ago because they had a player from the area who was a senior, and this was a way they honored their departing players.

I think it would help create stability for everyone else, except those teams near the top of that "top 40-50" that are trying to get into the big boys club. This sort of plan would absolutely create more stability for the Akrons of the world.
