while i won't go as far as claiming that the refs were trying to get ohio state to win, that last foul on oden should have been called intentional. even the osu fans at the bar were saying that they were surprised it wasn't called. even if it was called it doesn't mean that xavier would have won, they could have missed those free throws as well.

Malone is not even an NCAA institution. They are in the NAIA along with Walsh. Since they give some scholoarship money nased on athletics, they're probably closer to an NCAA D-2 school than NCAA D-3.A HUGE part of the NCAA tourney charm (although I'm sticking to my boycott this year so far!) is the "David vs. Goliath" scripts oftne seen in the early round games. If you take that away, I think the popularity goes way down. Malone may be in the NAIA but Akron is to Ohio State as Malone is to Akron. These guys don't get the greatest athletes and on top of that they don't play the best competition on a week to week basis. Then in the end, fans feel like their teams got robbed because they won X amount of games. What do people expect? If you play in a division that is inferior to big division I schools and for the most part, they all fail to win a high percentage of their out of league play then of course someone's going to get robbed if they lose their conference title game.... hey dumbass, we're both in the same division. we're just not as good as them in SOME sports. there is more to life than just football and basketball. anyways, you admit that we were robbed which means that you believe that we belong in at least the nit possibly the ncaa.

duke is down this year, and i predicted (in my head and to my friends) that they would get upset. i think their seeding was too high this year, but since they have the history they get the benefit of the doubt. even with the loss i have a ton of respect for coach k. i think he's one of the coaches i most admire.

i'll add to the cheer against section:high school friends that attend uofriends in uo's bandducks are a better mascot than redhawks--------personally i'm not just cheering for oregon because they are playing miami who beat us. i would normally cheer for them as i cheer for gonzaga too. however, since they are playing miami who in beat us questionably (there is no fair and square with a fuck up as big as the one at the mac champ game) i want to see a blowout in favor of the ducks. i actually want them to win more than i wanted can't to lose last year. if miami was playing any other team that i wasn't personally connected to, i would still want them to lose, but now i want them pummeled. miami --> <-- oregon

you should add the screwing of being left out of a bowl game in 2004 and the shitty seeding we got for mens soccer last year after being ranked #1 in the country for a month.

live right off campus and didn't feel a thing... but i do live in one of those real shitty run-down houses that are over priced for college students, so maybe i felt it and just thought it was the neighbor upstairs stomping around. i guess we'll never know.

tell you what though, without football many of the other male student athletes can actually get paid (scholarship) for the hard work and effort they put in. that's the downside of title 9... everything goes to football.i still think we should keep football around though. it's good for the school and community.

that's impossible because if you're not going to be a part of the ncaa for this one incident, then we're not going to be d-1, never going to any national championships, never going bowling, etc. we need the ncaa, and yeah they f-ed up, but we can't just cut ourselves away from them. if we tried that would be just plain stupid.

i keep seeing people bring up that danbrot said the shot was lucky and saying that's pretty low of him. in one of the articles (can't remember where i saw it) the kid himself said it was a lucky shot. it went something along the lines of "yeah i'd like to say i meant that, but no it was luck. i sent up a prayer and god answered."if the kid himself is saying it was a lucky shot (which it was) why are people getting so up in arms when kd says it was too?

what really sucks is that nothing we do can change anything for this year. yeah we can complain and express our outrage, which is rightfully so... but nothing we do or say right now will get our team into either tournament and that's really the only way to correct this wrong.
