  1. There is no way I want to see K-Lac on the floor outside of garbage time. I feel people are using revisionist history in an attempt to find a solution to a problem. K-Lac played in 30 games last season and scored more than 4 points a whopping 1 time while shooting .492 from the field. Meanwhile, he's a turnover machine who averages a foul every 4 minutes on the floor and is slow on rotating in defense. Do you guys not remember how terrible our defense was last season when he was anchoring the middle? Personally, I feel our best option at C at the moment is Riak. I'd take him over K-Lac at both ends of the court. K-Lac might be a marginally better post scorer over Riak, but K-Lac commits way too many offensive fouls. On the defensive side Riak is a stud. Sayles IMO isn't far behind Riak. He's a slightly better offensive player, but not the defender Riak is.
  2. Honestly, with the way we play defense if we somehow have a night where we shoot the ball somewhat decent , I think we'd have a chance of beating Buffalo in 1 of our potential 3 match-ups. That being said, with our inconsistent offense (can I really call it that since it's actually consistently bad?) and inability to win tight games, I don't give us much of a chance of winning 3 games in 3 days.
  3. This is a well articulated post and I agree with pretty much everything said. Utomi and Banks are our only above average 3 point shooters. Roscoe may be one too, but it's hard to say given his limiting playing time. Ivey is a career .316 3 point shooter and is putting up nearly 5 attempts per game. LCJ is putting up over 7 a game while shooting .315. These are very poor averages. Both have shown the ability to cut the basket. That's where they need to be predominately getting their points. I have no problem with them taking a 3 here or there when they have a wide open look, but 12 a game is too many.
  4. Thank you, Clark . I was about to tag you in the CMU thread asking you to create the NIU thread. The way we finished down the stretch was flat out disgusting. I want to move on and look ahead.
  5. I wonder if we'll ever learn how to close out these close games because all these last minute losses feel like a swift kick in the nuts
  6. We tightened up with 5 minutes left in the 2nd half. Guys were trying to do too much offensively instead of moving the ball around and taking what the defense gave us. We fell apart defensively in the 2nd half.
  7. 4 minutes left is too much time to be holding the ball to run the shot clock. We need to run our offense.
  8. Hopefully Utomi seeing the ball going through the net gets him going this half.
  9. Yeah, I saw a similar post a few weeks back on cfb reddit page that had Akron on it. There were fans from Pitt, Appalachian St, and others who were quick to say the same that Infocision doesn't deserve to be on this list based on their visit here. Don't read too much into it.
  10. What's with this off the ball movement we're seeing? I didn't know we had this in our offense.
  11. I had to close out of app then go backnin then it loaded.
  12. Anyone else getting the "This event has not yet started" message on ESPN+ or is it just me?
  13. I hear people saying lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the US so I have to guess that plays a reason behind it. That being said, I'm all for minimizing the costs of our olympic sports. I'd have to think field hockey would be the cheaper option plus it gives us another opportunity to win a MAC championship.
  14. I'd settle for the cash bar...
  15. Are we still at 1 commit?
  16. His name is Xeyrius Williams and unfortunately he isn't elgible to play until next season.
  17. We don't have a post up big, which is a definite weakness, but we have some guards who have shown the ability to attack the basket. Tyler Cheese is one that comes to mind. LCJ is another that I see attacking the basket a lot. Sayles I think has the potential to develop into a pretty decent post player. He's already shown some pretty decent footwork. He needs to work on his touch near the basket.
  18. Watching the WMU game it seemed Dugan, whose listed at 7', really disrupted our inside game. Either by altering shot attempts or by discouraging shots all together with his help defense. CMU starting front court consists of 6'7 DiLeo and 6'6 Montgomery. I'd like to see our guards attack early and get some easy buckets in hopes of building confidence. Maybe then we'll see the 3's start to fall.
  19. You get a parking pass to the deck with GA season tickets. I'm guessing that's who you're mostly seeing coming in and out of the deck before and after games.
  20. What's surprising about their 19% day from behind the arc is I thought they had a lot of quality looks. Not many of them looked forced. We did enough to scrape out a win. Hopefully we find our shooting by Tuesday, we'll need it against CMU.
  21. What caused the stoppage?
  22. It would be nice to give Roscoe some minutes in the 2nd half. We need an offensive spark.
  23. It would be nice to have a big that could finish at the rim...
  24. In the words of Charles Barkley, Toledo looks turrible.
  25. I figured since the MAC is starting conference play today I'd revisit this to see how the MAC closed the OOC season. I added 3 additional mid-major conferences to the mix. The MAC improved their KenPom average from 139.25 to 135.50, which is about 30 spots better than the average MWC team. The MVC had a strong finish, but the MAC still leads them by a healthy margin. They also still lead the A10 and C-USA. The AAC by the numbers looks like it should get more at-large bids than the PAC-12. Bravo to the season they're having. The MAC actually looks pretty comparable to the WCC except for the fact we're missing a team as good as Gonzaga. It surprises me they haven't been poached by a larger conference yet. I may revisit this before selection Sunday or after postseason play if anyone is at all interested in seeing how things finish. Edit: After I posted I noticed that I only included 9 MVC teams into the total while still dividing by the 10 total teams they have in the conference. That explains why they looked so much better than they did 2 weeks ago. I've updated the graphic.
