I don't think that's inconceivable. Miami struggled with big, skilled front court players all year. This game could potentially get ugly quick if they don't find a better way to defend the low post or rebound well.

Tonight's a win/win. Either Miami wins and the MAC gets $2.1 million or Miami loses and they're forced to eat humble pie.

I shared what 200+ men's basketball programs were spending yesterday. The women's data was hidden behind a pay wall, but someone provided it for me so thought I'd share. This would be for the 2024-2025 academic year. Edit: It should be noted this figure doesn't include revenue sharing or 3rd party NIL.

Honestly, a better hire then I expected for them. He had 2 stints as a D1 head coach and finished better than .500 in conference play in both. Still not all that concerned. He might be able to build EMU into a respectable program, but I don't see them contending.

It's great hearing the merchandise is moving well and people are excited about Zips athletics. I wonder if this will cause a delay in shipping as I'm not sure how many they had on hand to start to start with.

I went ahead and ordered the 3-Peat hat. I normally don't like wearing ballcaps, but I like the design and there isn't any other 3-Peat merch to get.

I was excited when Groce came to Akron, but if I'm to be honest I had doubts he would live up to Dambrot. Not because I didn't think he would do well, but because it's hard to expect anyone to make 9 MAC finals and then win 3 of those. Not only has Groce lived up to those standards, he has surpassed them by making the tournament 4 times in 5 years.

He probably believes everything he reads on the internet, which is why he thinks Auburn deserve to be in the tournament.

I believe we were -6.5 vs both Toledo and Kent in the MAC tournament. Both games came down to the wire.

Yes, it will be interesting. My friend group was messaging and we were discussing perhaps making the trip to Tampa. Probably not going to happen, but airfare was relatively cheap. Saw some flights for <$200. You also have a lot of snowbirds, like @VAZip, who can suddenly attend. I imagine games in cities like Orlando or Tampa attract a different kind of crowd compared to other parts of the country because they're easy to get to, plenty of transplants already in the area, and who wouldn't want to escape the cold for a few days.

Definitely feels like the most winnable matchup we've had. Not only are they not overwhelming in size, but they play a lot of younger players heavy minutes. Perhaps can lead to them making more miscues than a senior led team.

Yes, they wear OSU gear, but they're mainly OSU football fans. 99% of them don't follow OSU basketball. I wouldn't be surprised if many are UNC or Duke bandwagon fans for hoops.
