  1. I doubt these games are sitting well with the coach and the loyal players. So my guess would be that Antino has burned his bridge and is done. His little pass through at Groces presser was poor form. He can go.
  2. so after a lot of angst seems like we all agree that Josh, Noah, Antino, TDM, and Michael Hughes are gone.
  3. If you were involved in yesterday's threads, you know that anything is possible on here during a slow news day.
  4. I think in any of these proposed lineups for next year we need to presume it's Aaron Jackson and not Antino. Noah and Antino have their own agendas.
  5. I don't know these players or the dynamics of the team, but Im gathering there was a divide between Ivey and some of the others and maybe the coaching staff. I'm going to assume that the "game players" are going to bolt. It was clear last week who was on team Groce and team Ivey and who wasn't. And many rag on Aaron but he's sticking around.
  6. What's an awesome night that was! It's nice reliving some good memories. I think we will have more going forward.
  7. Was never impressed...Good with waving a towel and flexing. That's about it.
  8. Please see Jimond Ivey Appreciation Thread.
  9. Maybe Noah will go do Dewkane. I'm sure he will be guaranteed the keys to the team like he was here.
  10. Real classy to use the Akron uniform and the Dewkane logo.
  11. The plus with Nick is that he's been out on his own away from the old regime, but where he stands with all the other possible candidates available is a mystery. No time for sentiment at this point.
  12. Amen. However, I drag myself to every game +1.
  13. President Wilson was involved in the hire obviously. Wilson saved our university close to $400,000 to 500,000 each year with his salary. Also, selling the house will garner the university maybe $600,000. Then Wilson, Williams, and Van Horn (like them or hate them) hired a coach who saves us around $1 million for his first two years. President Wilson and Coach Groce (yes this is a very, very rough estimate) have saved the university around $2.5 to $3 million, but a few donors are pulling their small change from the Zfund. I think the University and the program will be just fine. Even "Joe Akron" voted this was a good hire. What more do you people want?
  14. WTF? Absurd. Not even comparable on any level.
  15. The highest paid coach and 4our years of no results except a win over Houston. Yeah, let's give him a raise or hire one his assts at the same salary. I sense some concerned trolling going on here because Groce isn't leaking info.
  16. Unbelievable. Pot stirring. I talk to a few people who say how awful this is that we lost Dambrot and poo poo the new coach. Then I realize they haven't been at every single home and Mac tournament game like I have for the past 12+ years. They all bought into the "20 win" crap. And they will be first too bitch if it goes bad or jump on the bandwagon if goes really well.
  17. Unbelievable. Talk about Sunshine Patriots. Gee, Dambrot bails after telling team he won't. Akron hires a quality coach AND saves the university maybe $800,000 over two years and "they" withdraw $. Quality stuff there .
  18. For the "meet and greet," no one contacted the season ticket holders by phone or email to invite them. If you didn't read it on here or gozips you wouldn't have known to attend on a rainy weeknight right after work.
  19. I don't know what Jimond's relationship was with the prior coach and the allegedly transferring players, but I'm very happy he's all in with the new administration.
  20. EXACTLY!! any of you have an answer to that?? (crickets) I didn't think so.
  21. Comparing LSU to Akron is like comparing Noah to Antino? This thread was off the rails so was just adding some absurdity to the mix.
  22. Slow news day...Hypothesizing that we only have 7 players at this point
  23. Comparing LSU to Akron is like comparing Noah to Antino?
