  1. Lead from start to finish. Groce only allows team stats on the side boards. Which is rather cool...didn't know Utomi was at 26 points until I read it on here.
  2. Almost had it closed out. I'm stating obvious...no inside presence.
  3. What's a SID?
  4. Right, of course, no flaws in that logic.
  5. What does this mean? Can you give an example of a bad "in game" decision he made or didn't make? A cite to an article? If you recruit well, the in game decisions get a lot easier.
  6. One of my guilty pleasures in life is reading Bobcat Attack after they lose to us in basketball or football. Anyone with a random thought over there will start a thread with titles like "And the sad thing is..." Or "Akron is pathetic." Their hatred of us borders on delusional.
  7. I watched some of the NIU/WMU game tonight. The NIU stadium looked pretty empty to me, and they went to the Orange Bowl a few years back.
  8. For the record, I would have said 2%. But I'm an optimist!!
  9. Balsy nailed it!
  10. Yeah, this article is another..."if it weren't for a missed field goal" diatribes about how the other team was really better but...
  11. Elton's way of letting us know he was actually at the game.
  12. I woke up whistling The Blue and Gold this morning.
  13. Looks like Kato is ok despite his limping a bit after the game which you can see if you watch the replay.
  14. Skip for once I must agree with you! I thought the same thing.
  15. On Bobcat Attack they said Kato was injured on the final play so we would probably lose to Kent. I listened on the way home to Joe Dunn interview Kato. Sounded to me like he was ready for Kent.
  16. Just got home from game 11:20P.M.!! Sitting/Standing through that game was surreal. When there are only a few people standing around you at the end of the game, you sure do form a bond with them. 1. Probably the biggest win I ever remember attending at Infocision. 2. All Hail Kato Nelson 3. I never saw a QB who could fake a hand off better than Rourke 4. Beating Ohio U in football is almost as sweet as beating them in basketball. I can't wait to troll their message board. Their basketball fans are the biggest $%^& in the conference. I can't imagine what's going on with their football fans tonight. 5. As for Woodson, I just feel sad for him. I don't know what happened but how could whatever it was be worth it. We have players breaking their legs in games, and he can't see past himself. 6. Still not a Bowden fan. Geez, he has had the luck this year. 7. This game was a complete and total surprise. I did not see this coming. 8. And the event staff...please lighten up and get over yourselves...and let the 3500 of us who attend enjoy the game.
  17. Is there a penalty that hasn't been called on us?
  18. Feels like the Zips are running out of steam...
  19. Tommy needs to be run off campus. But I blame the coaching staff. No discipline.
  20. Funny Skip how you know what all our "mental processes" are and what we are "really thinking?" Did you get a Psychology degree from Portage County Community College? We all want the same thing. And we all aren't going to be monolithic in our feelings about the prior coach or the new one.
  21. As an animal lover I hate to use this phrase but this horse has been beaten to death. And, yes, I was complicit in the murder.
  22. Traitor is probably a strong word, but he left at a good time for himself and probably the program as well. Maybe I can speak for a few on here and say that the 20+ wins didn't mean that much when many of the opponents were pretty lame. What would really hurt is if we started to have first round exits from the MAC tourney.
  23. Someone wrote on here awhile back that they thought our prior coach recruited for "the position" and Groce recruited for "the team.". That's likely too simplistic, of course. But I think I read somewhere that the players who stayed were allowed to have input on whether a recruit would fit in with the program. Whoever said Ivey may need to shake off last year's demons is probably on the right track. It always seemed like he wasn't happy fighting for time with Noah and Antino, etc.
  24. Sayles and Duvivier or Michael Hughes and Dunn-Martin? I know what my choice would be.
  25. Really appreciate all the analysis. For me, it was like a fresh start. I didn't have the expectations and angst that came with the last few seasons. Even when these guys were looking down and out there wasn't any panic, jawing, whining, finger-pointing. There were some crazy 3s and a few turnovers that everyone in the gym saw coming and a few questionable plays (Jimond in final minutes shooting a 3 early in the clock when we were up by 10 or so). But Groce and his staff seem to handle it well. He called that long time out at the end and settled everyone down.
