I'm in lower bowl and the 10 seats to my left which are center court, prime location are always empty or partially filled by different people each week. Does give me a place to put my coat Before if you got your tickets from your boss or whoever, you could come and get a free meal and drinks in the TE lounge. Now if you want to eat there its thousands of dollars. I've never been in there, but I get a sense they are looking for a new business model for the VIP perks.
See this as an epic test and a match up I mentally noted since last year's come from behind win at the Q. Hoping the Zips maturity will shine and they can keep their cool. After our escapes from them at the Q over the years, they have got to be supremely motivated to end our streak.
One thing I noticed is that Dambrot will do whatever he can to keep fresh legs even if it means the opponent gets a mini run. That depth is what seems to pull us through at the end of these games. When is the EMU thread starting?
The ABJ article was awful. Not sure when according to GT the Zips almost let the game slip away...other than some back and forth in the first half. Made it sound like we were lucky to win.
Looked like a good crowd to me. Was surprised when I heard French complain about it during post game.
Woo hoo! There was a guy on Bobcat Attack who can predict better than all of us as he predicted:
"Lets try not to overreact to tonight's 15 point loss. We don't match up well against Akron even with a healthy Tony C. Without him, we are in for a rough night."
I remember being at the game when Noah injured his ACL. I remember he was attacking the basket at the time. Maybe it was on a steal. I'm no sports shrink but it must be on his mind in those situations.
To paraphrase a song, "When the 'wins' keep rolling in, you don't ask how."
Friday's game worries me a bit more but of course that is subject to change if we are down by 5 with seven minutes left tonight.
I watched the entire OU/EMU game. Both teams were "chippy" with each other. At one point, OU's Block body slammed EMUs Thompson. These will be highly physical contests, and I think the neutralizing of Big Dog will be their focus. This is going to be a great week of basketball at the JAR.
It is a shame to see Campbell injured. OU's loss and his injury (if it's as serious as it looks) zaps a lot of excitement from that game. I wrote before this road stretch that if we could win these two games on the road we are looking at a different kind of Zips team. These two wins were big, however we got there (and despite my gloom and doom). Teams of the past would have dropped one of these games. 4-0 start in the MAC while Canada and Kent are imploding. Feels great. We are the premiere team in this conference.
Wasn't it last year or year before we ran into some foul trouble and Big Dog injured his ankle or there was a crazy technical at the end of the game? There is a full moon this week, so if we can avoid a meltdown coupled with poor officiating then i think we will be ok.
Agree with LZip. I think this was a great game and win for us. CMU is a very high-scoring team. I remember when we played them at home last year. Very impressed by them and were well-coached. I think we got them on a really good night, and we proved to be the better team.
