  1. To be honest, it tells me who is interested in Akron’s football program & who is just here bashing. That is a pretty big pick up. Let’s hope it works out for both sides. I was really just seeing if anyone noticed. I could have put it on one of the cutting threads & stirred up some negative comments about the program ?
  2. Have to do some digging but I think Floyd, Brimage, & Woolridge signed with Ashland. Ramart with Indiana University of Pennsylvania & Mack got on with a small school somewhere
  3. Just an FYI, doesn’t have any real affect, Arth has built numbers in the QB room, ones with no chance are going to move on
  4. A link within the article about the affect of pandemic on MAC https://www.freep.com/story/sports/college/2020/05/01/central-michigan-eastern-michigan-western-michigan-ncaa-money-coronavirus/5135546002/
  5. Interested to see how this is handled. They technically don’t qualify for D1 FBS after cutting men’s T& F
  6. I’m hearing they are making the football players pay for their summer classes if they need to take any. That is new this summer
  7. This picture is pregame, it filled in nicely, it’s the best crowd I’ve seen there in my 3 seasons of going
  8. That was one of the best crowds, over 20k easy, half was a Iowa State fans, they traveled well
  9. His nephew just committed to Rutgers, probably an even worse program
  10. They cut 3 & we’re at 16 https://www.wksu.org/post/university-akron-cut-three-athletics-teams#stream/0 men’s golf & cross country & women’s tennis, saves 4.4 million
  11. Just a couple things Akron has 19 programs Boys - Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Rifle, Soccer, Track & Field Girls - Basketball, Cross Country Golf, Lacrosse, Rifle, Soccer, Softball, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field Not sure but maybe your considering indoor track & field as another sport but it isn’t 14 sports is the requirement to be D1, has to be either 7 boys & 7 girls or 6 boys & 8 girls per title nine Also, the MAC requires Football, boys & Girls Basketball & Volleyball, so these 4 programs are safe for some of you guessing volleyball & for some saying football is so bad we should consider abandoning it
  12. Sorry, i didn’t get that, went right over my head
  13. Toledo is in the West, we play the 3 that are on our schedule home & away this year & next. Then we play the other 3 in a home & away & it keeps rotating like that
  14. That was a great game, we played such a bad 1st half with so many false starts. We finely made a play & the momentum started changing until they knew they had a chance & then played at a very high level. The bonehead call to roam around & throw the ball as far as you can to kill the clock almost backfired.
  15. It’s has multiple ramifications, that is why I hate they left us hanging. They are going to cut programs. This has nothing to do per say with the football program other than if they cut so many programs they no longer qualify for D1 which affects the whole sports program. So hopefully they don’t cut 7 programs like being discussed. There has to 14 programs split equally between boys & girls or 8 girls programs. So which programs do you cut, ones that have no chance of funding themselves. Baseball was just reinstated & the field re done by donation. Track & Field is strong but apparently can’t afford to repair track. Rifle program is a top program but can they keep it. I don’t have the answers but just thinking out loud they can only cut 2 of the 8 boys programs or they again wouldn’t qualify so a lot of the cuts have to come on the girls side. What 2 boys sports do you cut? Baseball, cross country, golf, rifle, track & field? Basketball, football & soccer you would think are safe. Lets hope it’s not to drastic
  16. There are 7 being discussed, football players are concerned for several reasons & will be scrambling to make arrangements if they do it
  17. I don’t think you quite understand, if they cut several programs like they are discussing we won’t qualify to be a D1 program. You have to have at least 14 sports to have a D1 program so we would have to drop.
  18. D-I schools Schools must field teams in at least seven sports for men and seven for women or six for men and eight for women, with at least two team sports for each gender. We should hear something soon, from what I’m hearing there are several programs on the block. Throwing it around about dropping to FCS because we won’t meet the standard above. Many students athletes that have summer school classes & housing covered may lose all that. This will have huge impacts on many student athletes. Especially ones close to graduation. Very unfortunate, if it has to be done it has to be done but it will have a huge affect & a lot of student athletes
  19. From what I understand the staff took several scholarships last year of players they didn’t think was D1 football players or not good students/teammates and has done it again this year. Not sure of exact number & don’t know if they will release it at some point but I guess we are working with 65-70 scholarships. Which is extremely low but what I hear is they are trying to get this talent to D1 across the board with competition at every position where as we was at a significant drop off after our 1’s. I admit this doesn’t make sense to me but I heard it from players. If true we could be at least 1 more year away before being competitive. Not winning but competitive. Just my opinion
  20. Winter Champions have been announced & Dre is in a couple pics
