You always hope they are making these decisions very carefully with some guidance. I don’t like he used mother’s failing health for appeal to NCAA to come home to Akron but yet as soon as he can he goes even further away. Feel bad questioning character but in reality he left Indiana because he wasn’t going to play. He is leaving Akron because it didn’t quite go as aspected either. Hope the coaching is as good as he referred to and one of them can help this young man grow. No need for a tweet like that. Hope he learns, you make your own opportunities.

I agree & we very well could offer him a PWO, which would he choose? Kent is half the commute, Kent is in a better place right now.

Why are you so upset? I watch this kid every Friday & he is a good QB, nice arm strength, he makes nice long throws with all kinds of talent for H.S. around him. He is inaccurate on the more every down throw. Hoban runs all over you & then kills you on the deep pass. He is built like a RB & that is why no one has offered a 3 time state champ. I wouldn’t want him at Akron. I am not saying that to be mean. Things I do give him, he is a leader & has great determination, he is tough & never gives up, so in my opinion he has a lot of the qualities but not a D1 QB, for the kids sake I hope I’m wrong cause he is a good kid.

Kent don’t have him, he didn’t commit, he is just announcing he got a PWO. A good QB but the reason he hasn’t got a D1 offer is his height. plus his home school is Austintown Fitch so he lives closer to Youngstown.

I’ll give you a little of that but no matter his mechanics are atrocious

I’m not defending staff. Several players from Bowden recruits have struggled with the requirements of the new staff. Not only in the classroom but on the field. A lot is expected of you. But some of the people your pointing out are out of Arth’s hands. Williams & Hooks are still with team but didn’t make grades. Hooks would help significantly & keep Riley off the field. In my opinion Williams & Burkhart where 2 of the best receivers we had talent wise. One has had grade issues & the other medically disqualified because of ocular migraines. Don’t know for fact but I think with this season not going to be played & not counting towards eligibility Kato had late surgery & will be back shortly. Morris graduates and wants to try somewhere else. He didn’t play at Indiana and had 1 good game against FCS Morgan State. Knight had his opportunity last year & he really isn’t a WR, why the move to RB, his natural position. There are several players he pulled scholarships from like Woolridge that he didn’t believe was D1 talent & he is trying to rebuild The defensive front 7 are just not D1 talent. They just don’t have the size & speed you need to be successful at this level. I use to say this about the OL & I will say Coach Z has brought in 6’6” or bigger Tackles & our line is doing so much better, it’s about feet & length. Basketball players that are not good enough to play in college make great OL, beef up & get stronger I hope for us Akron fans we get to enjoy good football some day, but defensively that won’t be this year. Personally I want to see Kato with a better run game & OL to see what he does. Gibson needs some more seasoning in the spring

Odds are not in our favor but I can’t pick anything other than a Zips win against Kent. Hopefully are running game keeps rolling to keep Kent’s offense off the field & maybe Crum will play Crummy ??

I was on this board last year saying they should move him to running back. He was a running back in high school and at Ohio State until he tore his ACL & transitioned to WR but he wasn’t a good WR, was good with ball in hand but wasn’t explosive enough to create separation
