  1. You know, we may not be the most talented team in the Mac, but I like our fight. Guys play hard.
  2. 99 yard tunnel screen anyone??
  3. Phase 2 - completed. Block that kick!!!!!
  4. It's not like any team we play hasn't seen a flea flicker before... I don't think that's revealing too much of the playbook.
  5. that was Phase 1. Now get a stop and score again (phases 2 and 3). Let's go ZIPS!!
  6. Love me some BOOOOOOOOKKKKKKEEEEERRRRR!!!!
  7. BOOOOKER!!!!!! on the flea flicker...
  8. Score, get a stop, score again. Then reset.. Here's we go Zips!!!!
  9. Defense feeling a need to make play. That's at least 2x I've seen guys over-pursue and not make a play where they were in good position to make it.
  10. No way... got there same time as ball... that's what I saw anyway. I'm admittedly biased to favor the DBs based on my playing
  11. There we go!!!!
  12. Anyone know if the espn3 app for firetv will have this game as an On Demand game to view later on? It's going to be very challenging to get @Dr Z his personnel grouping info with the live broadcast. They switch to wide view just seconds before snap for me to get the positions but I don't have time to note the player numbers.
  13. I thought it was going to take 28 to beat WMU; D proved me wrong. Not sure what it'll take to beat Toledo but I don't want to rely solely on the defense in the second half to secure the win. Some are bemoaning play calling as a big reason we didn't put up more against WMU but (TB mentioned this in his presser as well) we had a few drops and a few errant throws in the second half that were just execution errors. We made those plays in the first half to get out to the lead but missed several in the second half to extend the lead and blow out WMU. They call it a "game of inches" for a reason but I agree that I'd like to see us make a few more of those plays and really get this offense rolling. Baby steps; gotta walk before we can run. Let's hope the offense starts cooking with Jet Fuel this weekend! Go Zips!!
  14. Must be that scout team offense really getting this defense ready to roll for gameday. They (the defense) have gotten better individually and collectively as the season has gone on.
  15. Looks like @zipsoutsider is volunteering to document defensive scheme versus our formations/personnel Good job man!
  16. No worries - we're not going to compile this data in order to prove you wrong/right (at least I'm not); we're just looking to detail the personnel packages because that's what football nerds do and it can be informative to know how they're trying to deploy their assets/attack the defense.
  17. Yeah, that's not how this old dog hunts... Some is good; more is better I'll give it a whirl and see what I can come up with. I'll DVR the game and that will allow me to go back and get the data after we watch the game. Momma isn't going to let me pause the game to count players on Saturday while it's live but I could do it Sunday morning before the NFL slate.
  18. Damnit... I am reminded, now, of something I heard so often in the Marine Corps... Don't volunteer for anything Having All 22 film would be GREAT. That's the next evolution; All 22 access to collegiate football like Gamepass has for the NFL. Let me see what I can do. You want the personnel packages (11, 12, 21, etc.) or just the receivers in on each play? I guess what I'm asking is, do you want the end game of this data to reflect the personnel packages the Zips are deploying or do you just want to see the snap counts for each player?
  19. Can we monetize it? If so, we just need a LOT of people to watch a LOT of football and then compile the data. Line starts behind me
  20. 2001 - Started 2-0 in MAC then lost to WMU - Sports Reference 1993 - Started 2-0 in MAC then lost to WMU - Sports Reference 1992 - Started 2-0 in MAC then lost to WMU - Sports Reference 1989 - The magical year - the last time the Zips opened 3-0 in MAC play - Sports Reference **NOTE** Zips were Independent at the time and won its first 3 MAC games but started the season with a loss to VA Tech and also lost game 4 to Youngstown State
  21. Whoever dialed into the big man upstairs and requested the hellacious rainstorm certainly did a little extra and was thinking outside the box!
  22. I agree. That was one of the craziest/best weekends of college football in a while.
  23. They didn't look like all that yesterday. Sure, they put up 30 but they didn't look unbeatable at all.
  24. They should have tried to throw deep on the play they got sacked on... that's what they were trying to do. I don't think they had enough time to get the WRs that went deep on that play to get back onsides and ready for a snap though. Hard to know for sure because couldn't see whole field but I think they clock runs out on them either way.
