  1. Just saw the funniest crap evah!!! After TD on fumble recovery ruling was confirmed, TB turns to sideline and swings/kicks his leg as if to signal “get the kick team in the field”. Mileee sees him and points to the end zone where the kick team was lined up as if to say, “we got it coach.” then TB and Milwee exchange a couple hand slap fist bumps. Funny stuff.
  2. What a way to close out the half!!!! UGIII
  3. Wave at Camp Pendleton for me while you’re out that way.
  4. Enough drink and you may just revert to your 25-year-younger self! This, is what we like to call going above and beyond.... well done!
  5. Oh yeah, much better.
  6. Are you insane In that scenario, we've gotta stay to the end to celebrate these guys taking their destiny into their hands and seizing their opportunity to get to the MACC game Boo the man wanting to leave early to stave off frostbite!! EDIT: Plus, I need to stay to get my hands on that Full ROO helmet!!
  7. hmmmm, that drive home keeps getting more interesting as we get closer to game time... hourly Akron weather provided by The Weather Channel
  8. Thanks for the info, @RowdyZip I think, in the grand scheme of things, after the top 30 - 35 or so teams is there any one person, one ranking outlet that really knows enough about all of the teams to place them in order. After the top 1/4 of the FBS, I believe rankings have as much to do with perception and recency bias as they do with actual team performance and ability. Shifting the perception of a program takes time; and wining. And more time. And then a few more big wins! Go ZIPS!!
  9. Wait, what? I'm a season ticket holder but don't live in the Akron area so maybe he doesn't have my #
  10. Thanks, @akronzips71 Yes, I recall that. I guess what I was asking is whether or not those division winners are slated for specific bowls; i.e. the winner to X bowl and loser (2nd in MAC) to Y bowl. Does not appear to be the case.
  11. I plan to get my hands on the matte blue Full Roo helmet after the game on Tuesday to take a good pic of it! I'm sure @Dr Z will have some stellar action shots as well.
  12. STILL!
  13. Your comment sent me to Google and I came away with this recently published list I know you were saying that Akron was dead least when TB took over... I usually don't put too much stock into rankings/power polls, etc. but they can be useful in judging outside opinion about your program. This list has Akron at #100 For Reference 43. Ohio 44. Toledo 59. Northern Illinois This was published on 11/14/17, 11:45 AM EST - before we took down Ohio. Now, I'm sure they are putting more into their "rankings" than just Team A beat Team B and Team B beat Team C logic but I wonder how much a win over Ohio moves the needle on the program overall? The old adage "any given week" has been very evident in watching MAC games this year. The parity across the conference almost dictates a few funny bounces, lucky breaks, bad calls, etc. can mean the difference in a few Ws or Ls along the way. There aren't many teams (if any) that are just going to go unscathed through the MAC season (save WMU last year of course). All this is said to say that perception and "history" can take a relatively as equally as talented a program from 43 (top half of the FBS) all the way down to 100 (bottom 1/4 of the FBS). Winning a 7th game, winning the MACC, wining a bowl all move that needle a little further for the program (some more than others) It sounds to me like this program might have been in a much higher position (perception wise) had they not had the horrible injury-plagued year last year. Back-to-back bowl seasons (maybe both wins), if they had stayed healthy last year, might have moved the pre-season perception of this team enough so that an article published on 11/14/2017 might not have relegated us to the dumpster bin of the FBS but rather up in the pack with the other MAC contenders. It's bubbling right under the surface and it's just going to take a few more like we saw last Tuesday Night to put them over the top. Once that happens, the synergy will be awesome. Akron will be able to get more of the recruits they go after; they'll build on more success, have better depth, have longer to develop younger guys (not relying on them so soon), will be able to move away from so many JUCO guys, etc.... I think I'm feeling what many of you probably felt after that 2015 season only to see the 2016 injury bug come calling. Here's to the momentum continuing to swing in favor of the ROO! Go ZIPS!!
  14. I guess it's good then that our Uni reveal was getting some run on ESPN. Any pub helps at this point so hopefully the selection committees for the various bowls have a soft spot in their heart for the ROO. Does anyone know, officially, if the Mac East and West division winners get auto-bids to any bowls and if so, to which? I can't find any specific tie in info for the various "likely" bowls that y'all have been discussing. I guess there isn't an auto-bid for Mac #1 goes to such and such and MAC#2 goes to such and such like there is for the Power5s (e.g. the traditional B1G #1 vs PAC-12 #1 in Rose)
  15. Yeah, checked the last 2 game notes and, predictably, #4 was listed as number one QB while #1 was listed as second string for both those games as well. I say predictably as there is no reason for the staff to bother updating this as a tip of their hand as to who may or may not start. Earlier this week I thought TB would start #4 given his comments in the presser about "if it's a 2 game suspension, that's the punishment" but the more I think about it, the more I don't think they can go away from the hot hand at QB.
  16. Question is, how accurate has the depth chart been all season? Thanks for the link - I'd been there before but hadn't visited the game notes recently.
  17. Where are you getting the weekly depth chart? I'm obviously missing a site/resource for data on the Zips Football team.
  18. If they can play like they did last week (save the penalties) they will be division champs! Can't wait for Tuesday! Love the Full Roo uni's they'll be wearing ! EQ staff really does a great job!
  19. I think Coney will be ready to go.
  20. For reference, TB comments on this in his presser about the 17:06 mark. His point was that if the suspension is 2 games (which it was) then that's the punishment. He's basically saying, IMHO, that they're doing 2 things: 1. Not tipping their hand to KSU about which QB will start/play 2. Trying to sort out which QB gives the team the best chance to win He mentions the "guys in the locker room" suggesting that they will weigh in the consequences of their decision with regards to how it impacts the team dynamic.
  21. I'm not sure where the team goes from here; win the whole damn thing, crap the bed against KSU, or somewhere in between, but it's sure been a fun season to watch unfold. The team has really impressed me with its perseverance. They've endured yet fallen short on occasion; they've overcome and achieved; they've set their course to control their own destiny and the only thing left to do is to go fight to secure their goals and fulfill their dreams! Let's Go ZIPS! - Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more
  22. FYI, if it hasn't been posted yet. Game will be on ESPNU (confirmed by the official MACtion twitter account @LZIp - we must have posted at same time....
  23. Thanks @Dr Z ! these are great!
