  1. Interesting tweet by JT. Assuming he must know the kid and that influenced his decision to commit to Akron. Anyone else ever seen JT tweet congrats to a recruit before? EDIT: I'm a moron - see below
  2. Interesting prospect. I don't know if I'm a good evaluator of OL/DL play but it looks like this kid has a great motor and is rather strong. Not sure brute strength wins as much at the FBS level as it can/does at the high school level, though. Could be a kid that can really develop in time though and would trust the coaches to make that call. Since he mentions Coach Ekkens, I'll assume they are recruiting him for the OL (at least initially) which I like; never enough big men in the trenches!
  3. @Cykron - I'm a University of Colorado Alumnus. The CU mascot is the best mascot in all of CFB (biased of course). When Ralphie the Buffalo runs out onto the field pre-game it's freaking awesome. A couple of my buddies in college were "Ralphie handlers" which means they got to be drug around the field by a stampeding 2500 pound animal just for the kicks of it I love the team mascots when they are engaged with the fans. Zippy does a pretty good job; hopefully he/she keeps it up.
  4. Totally agree. Going forward, the early signing period seems it will be the more "exciting" for fans with an occasional splash at/after the Feb signing period.
  5. one more
  6. What's your 40 time and vertical? Think you have to be able to handle some pretty athletic feats with a heavy costume so you need to be quick and explosive
  7. That's awesome!
  8. Figured @Balsy would want to know when the tryouts were so he can start prepping
  9. Yes, please!!! I'll check out his route running, etc. but you can always use some more burners
  10. Thanks @K92 - Loved this kid's video. I'd almost want to play him at S with the coverage and ball skills he shows but at 6'3 210 and still room to grow, he would be an amazing sideline to sideline LB.
  11. Met and saw this kid workout in Colorado. Looks like Zips are in early on this 2020 QB.
  12. Earlier tweet from Dakota shows a PWO from Akron. BIg kid who could put on some more size with coach 'Sleeve and the S&C staff.
  13. What's your twitter handle?
  14. Just saw this as well as the info on Kent HC headed to Iowa State
  15. Not sure where else to put this other than here... Not really of interest to me, but maybe @Cykron will find it useful
  16. Ha ha, that's awesome yet hearing it through the grapevine is a long way from it being "announced"... Just giving you a hard time but I'm glad your source and my "penciling in the calendar" are in agreement.
  17. @ZipsVoice - out of curiosity, where did you see/hear that they announced the Spring Game day/time? I assumed it would be on that Saturday (based on last year's calendar), but I haven't seen it officially announced anywhere yet.
  18. Only 68 and a wakeup to the first Spring practice (but who's counting)... EDIT - this is not an official date for practice. I'm just basing it off of what they did last year.
  19. I think we also have NW on the schedule for 2018 based on this link 2018 09/01 - at Nebraska 09/15 - at Northwestern 09/22 - at Iowa State
  20. Welcome back!
  21. Yes, I think this is the main source of my confusion too. Was hoping they would have gotten something done between the MACC and the bowl game and announced it like FAU did with Kiffin.
  22. Wait, I'm confused. This link states that TB is inked through 2021 but I can't find anything (news online) that corroborates that date. From reading on this site, I've learned that Coach's contract runs through the 2018 season but that seems in conflict with the 2021 date from the newsday link above and articles online about the extension he received in 2013. Does anyone have a definitive source for contract information for coaching staffs?
  23. 89 days til Spring ball (give or take ). It'll be here before you know it! Looking at 1st practice last year and projecting to this year's calendar, I have them starting on March 19th.
