One other note. I stayed true to the Zips all the way to the bowl game, even so much as to get my car washed at Zips in Memphis. I wore my Zips pin until it got replaced by a Liberty Bowl pin as my most recent road trip for the Cyclones.

There is a good chance that Iowa State will get votes (and maybe even be ranked) for the start of the season, if only because of David Montgomery, our RB who led the nation in broken tackles.
-
Didn't even notice that you were gone.

Our season almost came down to this "fumble," our one-and-only lost fumble of the entire season. Does that look like a fumble to you? Or a TD? Fortunately, our defense held on for the win. https://twitter.com/MouserTim/status/947510171496042497/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc^tfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fs9e.github.io%2Fiframe%2Ftwitter.min.html%23947510171496042497 Looking forward to seeing some of you in Ames in September.

As you know, Iowa State fans like to tailgate. Well, apparently we like going to bowl games too (who knew, as we have only won 3 in 120 years of football). The Liberty Bowl is sold out and we will probably have 40% of the crowd (25,000). We have taken over Memphis. Exhibit A: This is 3:30pm Friday. Our game isn't until Saturday! Oops. That's a lot of business profit going untapped!

#1. Check. #2. Check. Thus, targeting. You may be relying too much on the photo and not enough on the video. Being faster and more physical doesn't make you dirty, but plays like this do!

This is dumber than anything I have ever posted on this site. And that is really saying something!

I agree. However, watching Kiffin and so many others, I don't know how any recruit can even begin to trust that the recruiting coach will be there by the time he graduates (or even plays). And this applies to my newly beloved Matt Campbell. We want to think that he loves Ames and will stay at Iowa State, but he has already shown that he was willing to bolt on Toledo after a one day conversation with our AD. It would be crazy not to give Bowden a contract extension. If it hasn't been done yet, it should be done tonight, while there is still one more day in the early signing period.
-
Get any terrible shots of Kiffin that we can use for a "fill in the caption" game?
-
I agree. And Kiffin wonders why he has a bad reputation. However, I think the question was about what the Asst. AD said to tick him off.
-
That is very disappointing. Talk trash like that at a bar, not at a press conference after a big win. And making a crude mockery of someone's name in public, come on. And with your kid sitting there. I guess it is just Kiffin being Kiffin. Too bad. He took a shot during his half-time interview too by saying something about the score should be much worse.
-
Just leave out the first sentence and you probably would have been able to have a conversation about the game.
-
I don't know if the absence of an extension hurts, but the presence of an extension certainly helps. I'm surprised that an announcement hasn't already been made. FYI, Matt Campbell got an extension right after the regular season and we are expected 17 of 18 commits to sign tomorrow for Iowa State.

Oh well. I guess the game went much more like the FAU intruders predicted. Now, time to get back to work. This year was a year of progress. Build on it ... but not too much until after you leave Ames.
-
Kiffin must poop teflon. Nothing sticks to him. How can he just bounce back and back and back? And always treated so well in the media.
-
Oh really? Who did Kiffin sign with?

One day of bowl games and we already have 3 teams losing that were picked by 80% or more on ESPN's Capital One Bowl Mania!

Here is some analysis from my perspective: The Iowa State/Oklahoma "rivalry" is the most-lopsided in college football history. Look it up. It is really sad. The last time Iowa State has beaten its conference foe Oklahoma in Ames . . . wait for it . . . JFK was President! That's 1961! Iowa State was a 31 point underdog to Oklahoma this year . . . and we know how that one turned out . . . and it was no fluke . . . we out-played them in Norman, Oklahoma . . . and then outplayed TCU a few weeks later . . . with a walk-on QB from Massillion, Ohio! Which do you think is more unlikely? Iowa State beating Oklahoma in Norman? Or Akron beating FAU in Boca? Even after our game in Akron this year, almost no Iowa State fan would have bet on us beating Oklahoma before you beat FAU. But, it happened. And Kato doesn't even have to outplay a Heisman Trophy winner! Akron may be the game-changer for Bowl Confidence Picks games across the country!

Thanks. Some mixture of gracious guest, tailgate host, and kiss-up. Yep, that's me. Except you forgot to mention the clever wit and keen football insight. Bummer that Buffalo didn't get to play in a bowl this year, but it does take a lot of travel stress out of the holidays for us . . . hopefully just for this year. Next year >>>>>

Twitter page needs to get the team helmets on its header (and remove the American and C-USA conference ones).
-
Yes, I have noticed that. They started friendly, but then pretty quickly got chippy. I see this often on our Iowa State fan site. It usually doesn't take very long to find out what they are truly like.
-
Yet beat Oklahoma (in Norman) and TCU.

For the record, I have not gone to the FAU board.
