I am fine with it for the last 2 minutes of a game especially since the rule came into effect due to Illinois getting hosed in Groce’s first year as their coach. How about this for teams 5-12. To give the 5 & 6 seeds some love and to limit overall travel time and expense they would both play host to 3 other teams and 3 games total over 2 days. (Monday & Tuesday) (5)-12, 8-9, then the winners matchup. Overall winner travels on to Cleveland on Wednesday to either play 3 or 4 Thursday depending on reseeding. I agree with your argument and I like your schedule for Cleveland. But I would also be open to the idea that only Seeds 1-4 are guaranteed a trip to Cleveland using your format. Let 5-12 battle it out on campus for a couple of rounds to earn the right to play 3 & 4 on Thursday.

I know there wasn’t too much about this game to look upon fondly, but I enjoy watching one of the smallest guys on the court, Tavari, block shots.

I think the regular season has to matter. Personally the top 8 teams is enough, but if you want to give everyone the chance to have a post-season the 1 and 2 seeds still need to be given byes to the semis. You can still play the first rounds at the home courts like before. If we did allow all teams to play, how would that look with 13 teams?
