Dude I'm not defending Arth. I think it was time for him to be let go, and I am actively promoting Matt Brock as his replacement. Again, my point is we aren't absolutely abysmal with no chance to ever win games again. If we can get a few things to go our way, and a head man to ensure that happens, we can go to bowl games on a rather consistent basis. This is based on the fact that we didn't get throttled in every single game this season and we have a decent roster.

I mean, I think it's unfair to count Ohio state, and Auburn. Unless you expect us to compete with those teams? 2 of the other scores you listed are two touchdown games. I don't consider two touchdowns a blowout, a play here or there changes that significantly. We beat BG, and are a play away from beating Ball State, who isn't a bad team. My point was we aren't far off from being a good team. Do you disagree?

Good question. I can try to ask around about that. At his age though, I would guess he would take an opportunity to be an FBS head coach though. I think from a coaching perspective, you can win here. That’s what attracts a lot of coaches. We weren’t blown out much this year. We’re not far away from being able to turn this thing around.

Completely agree. Didn't say I was happy with result. I will just support us no matter how bad we are. With that being said, I think getting rid of Arth was the right decision, and moving forward would like to see us win more games.

If there is someone better I want to know, to me, I want to do what is best for Akron! I will be making some calls today to promote him, so if you’re on the side that I am, please feel free to do the same. The more we’re able to do so, the more publicity he gets and the higher chance we get him.

I have discussed this name before, I believe I can help in the media to get it done. I had heard rumors about Arth being let go, and have been clear that the best name for the job in my opinion is Matt Brock, assistant at Mississippi State. Up until this year, has been a leader nationally everywhere he has been as a Special Teams Coordinator. He was a special teams coordinator at BG and is what jump started his career. Apparently he is the right hand man to Zach Arnett, and Mississippi State has been dang good on defense this year, so good that Arnett is getting mentioned for big time DC and head coaching jobs. If not At Akron, he is destined to be a head coach in the near future. Might as well be here. Young, fiery, hard working, up and comer that can recruit, and has experience recruiting locally and nationally. I don’t like the idea of hiring another FCS head coach like Arth. Someone with P5 experience can get us back and going to bowl games every year. I posted this a while ago, but would love some help in pushing his name. Thank you, and as always Go Zips!

I actually really liked Arth, but don't think he was the right person to get us on track. Need to focus on making a great hire now! I firmly believe this place can win and go to a bowl game consistently.

I thought we played hard as the game wore on. No one can say we quit. Proud to be a zip!

Still support the Zips not matter what. But unfortunately I don’t see us getting another win this season. Hope I’m wrong!

I know I sound like a broken record, but as time with Arth winds down, I keep hoping this is our next hire. Young, energetic, can recruit, P5 coordinator, familiar with the MAC. I’m just convinced this would be a home run hire.

If this has changed I’m all ears. Would Stroud be more qualified and better for Akron than Matt Brock? I personally would say no, but again, I am all ears to hear otherwise.

I thought of Todd as well, but have heard that he isn’t interested in being a head coach at this time in his life.

It would be great if we as a collective could find someone that we mutually agree on. I would like to think that we can pool our resources to have some impact and to help get the guy we want, although I know it will ultimately be Guthrie’s decision. The reason I rejoined the board was to help finally get the guy Akron needs to get up and rolling, and not be the bottom of the MAC. I am open to discussion, but I am currently pushing for Matt Brock. I would appreciate any help, unless other names can convince me otherwise. With that in mind, it would be great if we can get this thing turned around for the rest of the season. However, I’m not sure I see that happening.

BG is trending in the direction that I would like the Zips to be. Steadily getting better. I am actually glad that he is excited for another opportunity, but at some point they are opportunities we need to be taking advantage of. Go Zips regardless!
