  1. It's been this way for years, too. You can't even buy a fitted hat with the current logo on it. It's crazy to me.
  2. Didn't say it was a permanent fix, but I think Goodrich should at least get a chance to follow through here.

  4. Lyles fouled out with 7:08 to go.
  5. Does he make custom Zips gear like Akron Felt did? Some of my favorite items are still ones I had made there. I'd take a blank hoodie or shirt and get Akron logos out on.
  6. Just received this email...doesn't sound like Moorhead is leaving Hello Zips Nation!! Thank you for all your support this football season. We had energetic crowds, especially in the suites and club spaces. We had a lot of fun with a big Homecoming victory over Central Michigan, and we had great student support from the AK Rowdies, Spirit Squads, and Pride of Ohio Marching Band. While the year certainly had plenty of drama, our 2025 campaign ends on a high note. Our victory over Bowling Green this week gave us five wins this season, which is the most we’ve had since the 2017 campaign and gives us plenty of hope for an even brighter future. While I am pleased with the progress, like so many of you, I have higher expectations for our football program. Trust that our coaching staff and student-athletes share in these higher expectations. In our first meeting after the conclusion of this football season, Coach Moorhead and I reviewed the calendar and came to the same conclusion that so much of our success next year will be dependent on the next eight weeks. Over the next eight weeks, we will evaluate our football staff, operations, roster, academic efforts, and recruiting and retention strategies as the transfer portal opens and closes. Inevitably, we will see some of our young men enter the transfer portal and we will also identify many new faces who are eager to join the Akron Zips football program in pursuit of a MAC Championship and University of Akron degree. In an effort to help us recruit and retain the highest caliber student-athletes, persons who possess both talent and high character, we are asking you to please make a gift to the Akron competitive excellence fund today. Click Here to donate to the Akron competitive excellence fund today. We acknowledge that many of our peers have more resources than we do, however, that does not scare us. We will confidently move forward as we believe that the most important resources are a healthy team culture and support from all stakeholders throughout our Akron community. Trust that we will never use financial resources as an excuse. While they do help, we identify as and aspire to be the pound-for-pound best athletics program in the nation I hope that over the past six months we have demonstrated that our new “Make The Climb” culture of competitive excellence will bear much fruit and that your investment will be put to good use. Join us, as we “MAKE THE CLIMB” and help us as we work to as hard as possible over the next eight weeks to get to eight victories next season. Best wishes and Go Zips! Andrew Dr. Andrew T. 7. The recent post about getting a Shammah jersey made me think to start this thread - where do you get your best Zips gear? I've had the most luck with Rally House in Fairlawn. Is Akron Felt & Chenille still making Zips stuff?
  8. I admittedly haven't followed the program as closely as the men's team, but it doesn't seem like the program is moving in the right direction. I watched the last few minutes last night and they looked bad.
  9. I've wondered this as well. I feel like he was pretty visible around the program for a few years and not so much anymore.
  10. Cool promotion they have started doing every year.
  11. The biggest potential news of the offseason will obviously surround Moorhead. Is there legs to the Virginia Tech rumor? If he does stay, will the investment in the program increase from UA? I assume we will have a few players who will garner good interest elsewhere. Are we able to retain any key players? Who will the starting QB be? Non-conference opponents are: 09/05 - at Wake Forest 09/12 - Robert Morris 09/19 - at Minnesota 09/26 - UNLV
  12. I am not necessarily saying Moorhead needs to go. I'm pretty indifferent on him - I'm OK him staying and I'd be OK trying someone new. I'm just saying that I don't think it's impossible to find someone who can find a way to win here. I do think it would be a tough transition, though. The players do seem to play hard for and respect Moorhead for the most part, so we would certainly have more turnover than if he stayed.
  13. I don't quite agree here. No, you're not going to get an established coach or someone with a proven track record. But every great coach was once an unknown until they got their first shot. It's absolutely possible Akron could give someone their first shot and that person could turn its program around. Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it can't.
  14. We can't cite the close losses without acknowledging close wins that could have easily gone the other way, too. CMU, Buffalo, and BGSU were all one score wins. We can be optimistic and say they could have won 8, but they also could've won 2. I do credit them for progress vs last season, especially with so little to work with. I also agree that they should be allowed the basic investments an average MAC school has. I don't think that is going to lead the drastically different results on the field, but they've probably earned the right to try.
  15. Josiah Harris averaging 12/9 while shooting 41% from 3 as a starter for CSU.

  17. I want Stankovic to be more aggressive on offense. His size and athleticism get him to good spots on the floor, but he doesn't look for his own shot enough. I am sure that will come with more time.
  18. Lyles has struggled to rebound against talented teams with size. In 59 total game minutes against Purdue, Arizona, and St. Marys (both last season, of course), he has 6 total rebounds. This is part of why I wish they would've given Barre a look earlier tonight. He didn't record a rebound in his limited time, but I at least saw some physicality from him in the paint. Overall, I'm happy. They didn't get embarrassed and I don't think we will see another team that good this season unless we reach the Sweet 16.
  19. To be fair, SD State stole him from Washington State, who stole him from Cochise College.
  20. MMK is fighting for his life out there but asking him to guard Cluff is tough.
  21. Our leading rebounder is Sharron Young with 3. Lyles has 1.
  22. Not sure I understand not even seeing Barre. It's 33-14 on the glass. They have more offensive rebounds than we do total rebounds.
  23. I'm hoping Barre plays more as the season progresses. These are the types of games we need that size off the bench.
  24. #45 literally just ran over MMK from behind and...nothing.
