The recent post about getting a Shammah jersey made me think to start this thread - where do you get your best Zips gear? I've had the most luck with Rally House in Fairlawn. Is Akron Felt & Chenille still making Zips stuff?

I admittedly haven't followed the program as closely as the men's team, but it doesn't seem like the program is moving in the right direction. I watched the last few minutes last night and they looked bad.
-
I've wondered this as well. I feel like he was pretty visible around the program for a few years and not so much anymore.

Cool promotion they have started doing every year.

The biggest potential news of the offseason will obviously surround Moorhead. Is there legs to the Virginia Tech rumor? If he does stay, will the investment in the program increase from UA? I assume we will have a few players who will garner good interest elsewhere. Are we able to retain any key players? Who will the starting QB be? Non-conference opponents are: 09/05 - at Wake Forest 09/12 - Robert Morris 09/19 - at Minnesota 09/26 - UNLV

I am not necessarily saying Moorhead needs to go. I'm pretty indifferent on him - I'm OK him staying and I'd be OK trying someone new. I'm just saying that I don't think it's impossible to find someone who can find a way to win here. I do think it would be a tough transition, though. The players do seem to play hard for and respect Moorhead for the most part, so we would certainly have more turnover than if he stayed.

I don't quite agree here. No, you're not going to get an established coach or someone with a proven track record. But every great coach was once an unknown until they got their first shot. It's absolutely possible Akron could give someone their first shot and that person could turn its program around. Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it can't.

We can't cite the close losses without acknowledging close wins that could have easily gone the other way, too. CMU, Buffalo, and BGSU were all one score wins. We can be optimistic and say they could have won 8, but they also could've won 2. I do credit them for progress vs last season, especially with so little to work with. I also agree that they should be allowed the basic investments an average MAC school has. I don't think that is going to lead the drastically different results on the field, but they've probably earned the right to try.

Josiah Harris averaging 12/9 while shooting 41% from 3 as a starter for CSU.

Lyles has struggled to rebound against talented teams with size. In 59 total game minutes against Purdue, Arizona, and St. Marys (both last season, of course), he has 6 total rebounds. This is part of why I wish they would've given Barre a look earlier tonight. He didn't record a rebound in his limited time, but I at least saw some physicality from him in the paint. Overall, I'm happy. They didn't get embarrassed and I don't think we will see another team that good this season unless we reach the Sweet 16.

Yep, and he's been playing with it for about a week or so now, so that's not it. https://x.com/iawolves/status/1987336624305545439?t=A84uRKvPsQDkfeuvMxMxFg&s=19

Enrique didn't play last night for Iowa but has been in recent practice videos on Instagram. Hopefully he is OK.

Tough night for the women's team...

I would argue that each time they settled for a 3 point attempt instead of pushing for 7, it gave Kent momentum, not us. The first drive - where we pushed down the field at will and then settled - set the tone for the entire game.

Filling up the stat sheet doesn't matter if you don't execute to finish drives, or when you settle for field goal attempts when your opponent is back on their heels. Certainly wasn't the only reason they lost, though.
