  1. I’ve read the same. It appears he had several visits with them early on his HS timeline. He was a star in Oklahoma and first team all state with impressive numbers through out his career so makes sense if so. Wish it had worked out here, but best of luck to him. Still a fan of Wasel.
  2. I wish I had the confidence in Taj and Roggow that y’all seem to. Definitely see him as a gadget QB as said previously. I saw little improvement with Taj. Roggow just seemed adequate. Nothing great, nothing bad. Just couldn’t make much from it at this point, other than he throws a good ball. Finley will need to stay healthy. I haven’t seen much at all on the walk-on this spring.
  3. The crowd was better than anticipated! Agree on Finley being the stand out, but the amount of turn overs given his history is still concerning. Not a lot of faith in Taj, but he has tools. Wasel is somewhat unorthodox, but showed some flashes and mobility. I can’t remember a turn over, but he also had less opportunities. Roggow throws a pretty ball. I believe he had one turn over, but again less opportunity. Overall, I’m pleased with the depth at QB. Simmons looked good. Defense was the highlight of the day in my opinion and brought great energy. Agree definitely improvement needed with the OL, but not terrible. Norton should be fun to watch.
  4. So tough to tell anything by practices anyway. Ready for the spring game.
  5. We possibly got worse last season. Irons was the biggest reason we had a shot against Indiana and that kept the defense going. We have to step it up offensively and on special teams. Not expecting to be able to tell too much from this upcoming spring game, but hopeful. Moorhead taking the offensive reigns brings hope, but then again you gotta hope he’s not spread to thin to oversee the program.
  6. Fair point and that’s good news. Based off HS film…Wasel surpasses him by a long shot in my opinion.
  7. Tired of the experienced failed QB’s. Let’s find our own guy or a G5 or P5 QB that hasn’t yet had an opportunity to show what they can do.
  8. I believe we’ll get a surprise at the QB position one way or another.
  9. Film doesn’t reflect the upside that Wasel has; however, appears sufficient and should be an upgrade. Cautiously optimistic as well.
  10. I believe Johnny is a walk-on QB and is his son.
  11. I will be surprised if we don’t land Finley.

  13. Agree. Just saying if you judged the majority of even these P5 freshman being paid massive amounts of NIl off their first start, they’d be at same level…not very good. It takes time. It also takes time for a Re-build. The one thing I think we should all expect from QB play to overall play is progress. That’s definitely not too much to ask.
  14. Taj got two full games last season. Wasel got nothing. How do we know their true talent level? Taj came from P5. Wasel had lots of P5 interest and was ranked as the #9 dual threat in the nation by Rivaks until he committed here. While it’s no doubt important to get a good, experienced QB out of the portal, I think the statement above is unfair to two kids who have chosen to be here and haven’t had adequate time to show their abilities. We have to decide if we’re gonna give one of these guys or both time to develop and mature or do we want to continue to find experienced band aids who couldn’t make it at the higher level to probably leave after a year or graduate.
  15. Agree. Wasel was clearly touted as a true P5 guy, but still young. Played at a very high level in HS. Odd we’ve seen nothing from him him to this point. It’ll be interesting to see how he’s developed. Be nice to get an upper class-men proven QB/leader over for a year to get us going in the right direction and mentor Wasel as he develops to lessen the risk of losing both.
