  1. Hopefully they cut down on the capacity in this one. I went to a Zips game at Millett last year and there were maybe a few hundred attendees. Capacity had to be over 10k. Looked like an absolute ghost town.
  2. Great game! I’m glad “the Brain” is Akron’s coach.
  3. Damn, that’s a shame. Thanks though!
  4. Does anyone know approximately what time we would play in the quarterfinals if we are the #1 seed? I’m assuming the evening, but want to make sure before I buy tickets. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough PTO to use for an all-day MACtion fest this year 😢
  5. With the peanuts we’re making from ESPN, I would hope the conference is not pushed into anything by ESPN.
  6. As most people already guessed: NIU will join the Horizon League for non-football sports. Not surprising given the geography, but surprising that the Horizon would even want these dumb, backstabbing scrubs for all the sports they don’t put any investment in at all.
  7. I guess he wasn’t interested in our AD opening 😕
  8. Anyone drinking one Zips Hoppin’ Blonde Ale per Tavari three pointer is going to have to take an Uber home.
  9. What blowing the game against Akron will do to a young man:
  10. Fair enough. Thanks for clarifying! Then, as Jarvis Landry used to say: “Bless ‘em.”
  11. Take it with a grain of salt as I saw this stuff on a separate message board, but they were only talking about ratings of non-P4 matchups. I agree with sentiments here, though, that our revenue share of our peanuts will be a little higher now with one less mouth to feed. NIU didn’t put money into anything but football so it is probably addition by subtraction overall for us.
  12. I agree with you 100% there as a bigger MAC basketball fan than football. The only real bummer to this loss is that their football team got the highest TV ratings in the MAC (I believe). Probably doesn’t put us in a great negotiating position when we try to get our peanuts from ESPN next time.
  13. Not sure the Atlantic 10 would want us, but that’s a pretty fun basketball conference. They also get paid more from their media deal per school than we do, despite not having football. We’d likely have to go to the Horizon or something for FCS football in that case, though. Not sure people are clamoring for that, but it’s not like we’ve been doing well in FBS.
  14. Excellent. Now the MAC commish can negotiate an even worse media deal for us. Rivalry games on Mondays so we get “brand exposure” but no money. Maybe he’ll also want to replace them with Northern West Virginia University- Southeast Campus.
