  1. With a brand new coach in place, I'd be happy with a #3 ranking.
  2. I smell conspiracy here. Rasor wrote his blog on the subject on February 5th and yet the members list shows he hasn't logged on since the 28th January 2010 at 05:58 PM, so how does he know what stupid things we had been saying in the meantime?
  3. Really? upakron was the best name they could come up with for a domain name? Subliminal perhaps? Maybe they should have talked to GoDaddy. http://www.upakron.com
  4. West still hasn't caught up to the East yet. No yeam from the East had a losing record against the West this year (BGSU and Buffalo went 3-3 and Ohio will be no worse than 3-3, The Zips and Miami both went 5-1and the Flushes went 6-0. This is probably good for the Zips, it probably means that once again the East is going to get three of the byes. We just have to make sure we are one of them.
  5. So the Zips end at 5-1 against the West (but incredibly the one loss was at home to EMU), I think everyone would have taken that at the beginning of the crossover part of the schedule. C'mon Ball State, if the Flushes win they will have gone 6-0 against the West two straight years. Let 'em get back into MAC East play so everybody else can pound them. Go Zips! Oh, and
  6. First step in legendary status?
  7. An almost 5 minutes stretch (18:17 to 13:35) where we didn't score a single point and yet we're still in it. Amazing. And this is the MAC West leader vs. almost the MAC East leader? No wonder the word Mactastic gets tossed around a lot.
  8. We're losing to a team that is shooting less than 30% Wow.
  9. This should help tie it in to the Zips. To win the Super Bowl now you need a MAC player on the roster. The last Super Bowl Champ not to have a MAC player and win it all were the 1998 Broncos. This time period includes three Zips - Dwight Smith, Chase Blackburn and Domenik Hixon. Maybe the MAC isn't as bad as we thought.
  10. Another angle on Mr. Howard from the Beacon.http://www.ohio.com/sports/high_school/83503302.html
  11. I think we did give them credit? You're very literal (or my English classes at UA didn't prepare me as well as I thought they did) . I didn't mean for this specific article, I meant it more as general reference for posters I've seen who seem to dump all over the BJ at every chance where they perceive an "injustice" has been done. I think the BJ has done a pretty good job lately of covering Zips sports (and UA in general) despite what to me seems to be a prevailing sentiment. I just thought we ought to give some kudos for the overall job they've been doing.
  12. Posts on the groundPosts on the groundLookin' like some fools with these posts on the groundWith the bar set low and your head spun aroundLooking like a fool with these posts on the ground
  13. I think we have to give the Beacon Journal, that's right, I said it, BEACON JOURNAL, some credit because their coverage of the Zips has seen an uptick in recent years. There are a lot more stories about the Zips than I ever remember before. I know there is some ways to go yet, but gove them credit, there have been a lot of stories lately that weren't directly about games being played.
  14. Not killing the Zips - Conyers and Cvetinovic, both with a double-double. Wonder when the last time two of our guys had that happen?
  15. And they just kept making Milton's life more and more miserable, hoping he would finally get the hint and leave. Seems like a pretty good parallel for a Can't State football coach. Wonder if Martin has noticed any boxes being stacked in his office yet?
  16. Pretty close, they have only beaten NIU. That loss is not looking so good now. And EMU has lost to every East team thet've played so far, except us.
  17. This upcoming road trip is not looking like an easy one.
  18. I want a Zeke double-double and who was it that wanted Darryl Roberts to shoot more? Wow.
  19. I'm hoping this means most folks are at the game, but not even a thread started on the NIU game? 46 points for the Zips at halftime? Think KD might have lit a fire under them?
  20. Hey Bailey's an athlete, he can play anywhere, including Zippy. I'll bet he could ride a Segway onto the field without losing his head.
  21. Thanks Dr. Z No real surprises there but I looks like they kept just about everyone that JD had recruited. No too bad of a class, now let's see how it translates onto the field. Where are the Brian Wagner's and Patrick Nicely's of this class? Only thing that worries me is very few lineman - two DE's and two OL's.
  22. Can anyone post it? All I am seeing on GoZIps.com is a blank page with a link to Ianello's 3 PM press conference.
  23. Lost Robinson to Syracuse
  24. We all know that facilities don't win anything, but they absolutely do help in recruiting. If you noticed, every one of those kids mentioned the new facilities as a factor, and Schrock even said that he was glad the Zips no longer play in the Rubber Bowl. Ianello is said to be a very good recruiter and he has the facilities now to make an impact on recruiting. Now lets see how he is an an X's and O's coach.
  25. Under the "nice problem to have" category, it will be interesting to see whether the men's or women's basketball team wins more MAC games this season. This hasn't been a real question for several years but it certainly is this year. Will the men come on even stronger realizing they are the defending MAC champs? Will the ladies get a little tight when they realize how close they are to the top? I'm going to go with the women's team - by one game. It just seems the men have a much tighter group of good teams.
