  1. BUGS isn't just stepping on our throat they're stomping on it. LCJ and X a combined 0-14 on threes.
  2. Good God this game is going to be over by halftime if they don't start picking it up. I've never seen the Zips play worse this year
  3. Awful start but they're still right in this one But making no threes and missing layups isn't going to help. And any team that has a player with a man bun doesn't deserve to win a game. ?
  4. How about we try some of those shots closer to the basket instead of just chucking up threes? Seems to be working pretty well for Blowing Green. Sort of like that nice job Channel
  5. He's been missing from those for a while, that was my complaint to start this thread.
  6. Correct, other than the two you just mentioned, the last time BUGS beat Akron was in the 08-09 season (which was also the last time they beat us in Akron. We got a little revenge by knocking them out of the tournament that year when they were the one seed). Since 05-06 we are 25-3! against them and at one point had a 15 game winning streak against them. They went 19-6 against us from when we joined the MAC until the 04-05 season when this current run of dominance started. Let us hope that dominance continues on Tuesday.
  7. The BUGS game is pretty much for the number one seed. If the Zips win this game BUGS would have to win all of their remaining games and the Zips could still go 1-2 and get the #1 seed. Buffalo could still get the one seed in that case too but they would have to win all of their games. And still fun to see things like this. I'd love to draw Auburn.
  8. And the kittens choke it away by missing the front end of a one and one and letting Justin Turner get the game winner
  9. Ohio up 61-60 with 30 seconds left and the ball
  10. You're correct on that, but the sites are already set so they try to work that around those top four seeds to keep them as close to home as they can. For all of the rest of them you gets what you get. Sometimes you're lucky on location (like when the Zips played in Detroit) sometimes you're not (like when they got Notre Dame in Chicago or Gonzaga in Portland). But those last two the Zips were playing a top four seed, in Detroit they were not.
  11. Unfortunately the cities and seed lines are already set. Cleveland hosts a 3-14, 6-11 and a 2-15, 7-10 grouping. If the Zips stay a 13 seed their only options are Tampa, Albany, Spokane or Sacramento. NET rankings hate BGSU at 152. There are five other MAC teams ahead of them including Akron at 72. Next best MAC team is Ball St at 117.
  12. My point was really don't you think the conference he plays in, you know might want to get the stats for their possible player of the year included on their own web site? Talk about looking amateurish. That reference is really good it has a ton of stats some I don't really understand but it reinforces how good LCJ has been. And that's counting all games he has been even better in conference. And by the way Deng Riak is 8th in the MAC in defensive rating.
  13. Wikipedia has the top ten in major categories but if you want to get detailed go to the Zips media guide.
  14. A lot of great players have played in Akron since 2005, here's my now top ten. To me longevity counts as well. One great year does not an all-time Zip make. I didn't see all of these guys so some I'm just making guesses. 1. Len Paul (second all time in scoring and fifth in rebounding despite not being able to play as a freshman and no three point shot) 2. Joe Jakubick (can't leave the all time scorer off the list and still ninth in assists and second in steals) 3. Bill Turner (5th in scoring 4th in rebounds) 4. Eric McLaughlin (third all time in scoring and second in assists, dynamic player) 5. Romeo Travis (Absolute stud, 7th all time in points ninth in rebounds second in blocked shots) 6. Jimmal Ball (as fun a player as there was to watch, 6th in scoring, 4th in assists and 1st in steals) 7. Don Williams (never saw him play but anyone who is still 8th all time in scoring and second in rebounding despite only having three years and no three point shot deserves a spot) 8. Zeke Marshall (Best defender I've ever seen in a Zips uniform changed offenses just by his presence, all time blocked shots leader (also in MAC history), more than double #2 on the list, top 20 in points and rebounds) 9. Fred Golding (all time leading rebounder, 20th in scoring in three years) 10. Alex Adams (9th in scoring and 7th in rebounds, three years) HM. Dru Joyce/Jeremiah Wood/Isaiah Johnson and 20 other guys ? I do think another year from LCJ like this year and he takes over a top ten spot.
  15. I went onto the MAC web site for basketball stats just to see where LCJ stands, although I knew they were having trouble with his stats, they were missing games and obviously stats. Well now it appears they have given up altogether, despite the fact that for conference games Loren Cristian Jackson leads the MAC in scoring (23.0), 3 PT percentage (51%), 3 PTers made per game (3.8), 2nd in Free Throw percentage (87%), and 4th in assists (4.46), he appears exactly nowhere in any of the MAC stats. Is this is a participation trophy situation? Is he making all of the other players feel bad because he is so good so they won't list his stats any more? ? If he just keeps his averages he should win MAC player of the year. Amazing for a guy 5'8", 150.
  16. Interesting to go back and look at this thread now, this was pretty close to correct, however, no one predicted the enormous impact LCJ has made. Legit candidate for MAC player of the year and unless something really terrible happens almost guaranteed first team all-MAC. Don't think anyone really saw that coming.
  17. Yep sadly that site (http://playoffsimulator.com/ncaambb/mac) is not working anymore, but I did find a new one that seems to work. And this site just gives odds but is pretty bullish on the Zips chances right now. If all of the favored teams win out from here on out the bracket would look like this. Not too bad for the Zips.
  18. And the Flushes are going down to Eastern Michigan. Shame that EMU has that beautiful arena and it's almost empty
  19. Tied for first! But still a tough schedule to go
  20. Tribble and LCJ at the same time? Interesting
  21. Michael Flowers trying to play hero ball
  22. But on the upside a little time for Sayles and he gets involved quickly.
  23. Quite the barn burner 4 minutes in ?
  24. Joe played in the JAR as well, fun to watch with that unorthodox style but man he had so many different ways to score. Too bad Huggins wasn't hired a couple years earlier. Joe is still far and away the leading scorer in Zips history and it's not close. The gap between him and number two is as big as the gap between #2 and #8. Of course number 2 is Len Paul and had be been eligible to play his freshman year its possible he could have the all-time scoring title.
  25. EMU making their typical late season push to save Rob Murphy's job. After starting off 0 and 7 they have climbed out of the basement in the MAC West And if the zips hadn't pulled off that sort of miracle win against them they would have won five straight. Kind of glad we're done with them for the regular season don't actually want to see them in the tournament.
