Don't know who it was but somebody just missed a fantastic bicycle/scissor kick That would have been a goal if not for an excellent play from Marshall's goalie -

Still 1-1 with about 20 minutes left. be disappointing if the zips can't pull this one out being a man up -
If they can hang that well with Buffalo at Buffalo after playing a pretty miserable first half definitely not counting them out in Cleveland.
-
Shooting 31% and 12% from three will not win you a lot of ballgames. But seasons not over til its over
-
31-12 run to end the half. Ugh

I would like to see that as well. Looks like about the only way that happens is if we win at least one of the final two and we have to root for the Flushes to win both of theirs. I'm not sure I can do that 🤣 . If we wind up as the three odds are high we'd draw BGSU first. And if the Zips don't win it I'd like yo see a Toldeo-BGSU final since neither of them have been to the tournament in decades.

Ah I missed that one - thanks - if the Zips finish the season by losing their last four they would deserve the fifth seed. Although even in that scenario they could also be saved if Kent ties with both of them. But if not all games get played and Akron finishes 12-6 and Ohio 11-5 Ohio gets the higher seed based on win percentage.

Simulator for MAC tournament seeding. They don't account for only having 8 seeds but pretty easy to figure it out for yourself. Zips can finish anywhere from 2nd to 4th. Can't find a single scenario where they drop out of the top four. And if all of the games are played and they at least beat Miami they don't finish lower than 3. Is there anyone in the top six you don't think could win the whole thing?

Nice broadcast. Is there something new this year? I notice the clock is counting up. -

And another interesting quirk to the season and the way it had to be scheduled, Zips will have played two more games than the Bulls (19 to 17) and will have played one fewer home game (9 to 10) if the season finishes out as scheduled. -
This is now true for the Zips and Toledo but the Flushes are in the same spot. In order to move up a seed the team right in front of them must lose at least two of their three games remaining while the trailing team must win at least 2 of three. For KSU to overtake Toledo Rockets must lose all three and Flushes win all three. I just don't see any of that happening. The more interesting scenario comes in behind since Ohio and Buffalo won't have played as many games. These are the finishing percentages that matter for each team. Zips 12-7 .631 13-6 .684 14-5.736 15-4. 789 Ohio 10-6 .625 11-5 .687 12 -4 .750 Buffalo 10-7 .588 11-6 .647 12-5 .705 Zips win all three obviously they are fine. Zips win 2 of 3 Ohio can pass them by winning all four Zips win one of three Ohio can pass them by winning at least three, Buffalo would have to win all four If Zips win none - obviously can be passed by both. I think the standings are going to stay exactly as the are right now. 1- Toledo, 2 - Zips, 3 - Flushes (they are in the most danger of dropping a seed but I'd like to see them stay exactly where they are), 4 - Ohio and 5 Buffalo (dogfight there), 6 BUGS, 7 Miami and 8 Ball State. Entire "East" division makes it.

Eerily similar the the Zips loss, even the score, KSU just needed one more 2 pt bucket. -
Wow Flushes down 21. SAT Question for you, Ball St is to Ohio as Kent State is to _______? Stuff happens
-
Two losses in th last 11 games against two of the top four teams is flailing? They won't finish any lower than third seed - still a great spot to be in,
-
Game over - sucks but not real effect other than that - all just a question of seed now. Only positive - I like Jeff Boals
-
Final 3 1/2 minutes - 2 points. On the bright side the Zips shot 27% form three and the Kittens shot 70% and we're still in it,
-
If the Kitties continue to shoot the three at an 83% clip we're in trouble. 😉
-
Ten minutes in - 9 points - ugh. 3 point shooting 1-11 🤮
-
If I was home I could see it - stuck with Gamecast now

RowdyZip mentioned this on the MAC Catch all thread but thought it was appropriate to include here. We and the Bobkittens certainly do monitor each others boards perhaps in a little bit of schadenfreude (I included that word because a Bobkittens poster said most of our posts appears as though they were done by five year olds 🤣). Anyway I really do enjoy the rivalry with them but it really hasn't been that much of a rivalry for the past two decades. One of their other posters said "If I didn't know any better, I'd read their message board and actually think they've done something significant in their basketball history like win an NCAA tournament game. You know, just one." RowdyZip mostly correctly pointed out "Saw this on their message board and laughed, but then realized you gotta dig deep when your team has finished above Akron in the MAC standings exactly TWICE in the last EIGHTEEN YEARS". I say mostly because it actually has only been ONCE, Groce's first year when the Zips finished 6-12 (and the Kittens were a mighty 7-11). That's it. They have also tied 4 other times including the fantastic 2012-2013 season when they were both 14-2. Zips have gone 211--114 in that span - including this year - while the Kittens have gone 169-153. Zips has finished in first six times and the Kittens ONCE (the year they tied the Zips). Zips average finish 3.75, Kittens 6.5. The Kitten tournament runs (which yes I absolutely wish we had) are now a decade old. And unless you pull a major upset or make the sweet sixteen your upset tends to get forgotten. So my point here (and I do have one :-)) would you rather have the kind of conference success the Zips have been in now year after year after year or win a couple of tournament games? While I'd love a win in the tournament the Zips success has kept me interested in what happens to them in almost every game over the last two decades as opposed to finshing sixth ever year. Making almost every season meaningful means a lot more to me than the occasional tournament victory (but be very clear I still want that :-)).

Off off shooting night for LCJ but he's still having a great game.
