  1. Curious, why? Ball State beat both Buffalo and Miami.
  2. Your lack of class is never acceptable to me. Not in 2006. Not in 2010.You call Coach Dambrot a racist. That is a major, MAJOR accusation. You actually spent the time to create a cute sign to show at the Convo calling him a racist, accuse him of punching a player, etc. Now you come on our board dressed up as some gracious OU fan and try to drive traffic to your web site.Uh, no. I said he used racial slurs. Did I make this up? No.http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1314...pg=3662,1899544http://news.stanford.edu/news/1999/may5/rkennedy-55.htmlIs this the same as calling him a racist? Absolutely not. It got reposted. So what? It got, what, one reply? It's a dumb sign. Using your own analogy, what if it was a sign about Solich? Would you have a problem with it then? Why? If you're so judgmental that you're going to define me based on that one thing, go ahead. But I don't feel the need to be a jerk around these parts because of a sign I made four years ago. True. Dambrot and I are cool. Maybe, just maybe, you're making a mountain out of a molehill.
  3. Cool demotivator. I guess I should have had that person four years ago take the picture when it was more acceptable to you, CK.Yeah, identical overall record, but one team played a much tougher schedule than the other, and that same team also handled the other in their only meeting so far. Also, Akron's not the defending champion. Bowling Green (and Buffalo) claim that. Akron is the defending tournament champion.
  4. http://is.gd/91M7CAkron holds steady.
  5. Your section would have to make progress to suck. When Akron's not in town, there are 15 students standing in a half-full section. It's a sad showing for a team that's had as much success as your school has.
  6. No, it's not a good point. The Wood/Travis Zips would swat last year's team aside like a gnat. Last year's team won a tournament against a historically weak MAC. The Wood/Travis/Joyce team finished higher in a better conference. They would have run roughshod over the last year's MAC.
  7. Jeremiah's playing in Finland and doing well, for those curious.
  8. NO WAY they bring a bus full of people for this. Their student section is the worst in the MAC, i cant believe they even know there's a game Wednesday.Schools with worse student sections:MiamiCan'tBowling GreenWestern MichiganCentral MichiganEastern MichiganBall StateNorthern IllinoisThey've been organized for a couple years now.
  9. Recruiting has been on the rise for the past couple years for a few teams, Akron included.
  10. You ain't kiddin'. Man. Wonder if Patton lasts through the summer. Negative press is piling up.
  11. Um... OK? This wasn't my opinion, it's what other people have told me. While he didn't have offers, Illinois and Marquette were looking at him. Had Ohio not gotten him in the early signing period, there's a good chance he'd be playing elsewhere right now. I have no interest or opinion in a "Zeke vs DJ" competition.
  12. Akron inches closer to the top: http://is.gd/8BdYD
  13. The consensus in the recruiting community is that Cooper would have gone high major if he was taller or if he didn't sign in the early period.
  14. The importance of the block stat is disputed. Myself, I don't put much stock in it. Altered shots? Absolutely, there there's no hard stat for that. Problem is, we still don't have solid defensive stats publicly available, which is where Marshall is making his hay. Cooper is tied for 19th in assists per game (61st in assist rate), tied for fifth in steals per game (26th in steal percentage), and tied for 133rd in assist to turnover. Also, how many stars a player has is meaningless. Also, kenpom and Basketball State = awesome
  15. 82games.com takes umbrage with this statement.
  16. NBA is a bit premature, but he is leading the conference in steals and assists... he's a good one.
  17. the video will be on channelsurfing.net...no one wants to listen to the OU announcers they were AWFUL the last game!Everybody hates the other team's announcers.
  18. Free radio PBP available for this game. Go to athensi.com and click on the WXTQ link.
  19. It's a matter of controlling the pace. Those teams that allowed the Bobcats to get out and run were the ones that watched Ohio pile up the points. They've yet to show they can win when forced to play offense out of the halfcourt at a slower pace.I would suggest focusing more on Reggie Keely than Washington; Keely can actually create his own offense in the post while Washington can really only score in the open court, off pick-and-rolls, and putbacks. Keely is playing well enough to command a double team in the paint; problem is, that's going to leave someone open and the ball will find its way to Freeman's hands. Wonder if we'll see a freshman-on-freshman matchup with Marshall.Armon Bassett is playing the best he has since suiting up for Ohio, which makes it that much harder to key on Cooper. I imagine Akron is going to try and take the game inside, force Ohio into a zone, then exploit it.
  20. Miami's schedule is insane, and Akron would be silly to adopt it. However, Akron would be wise to beef up the schedule some. I'm not saying travel to the Dean Dome, but the selection committee wants to see signature wins, and you can't get those if you don't try. Yeah, you're going to lose more often than you win, but that's the world we live in right now.
  21. Not a bad idea, but both Ohio and that other school off I-76 have tried this and did not draw well. On the other hand, it's possible to get an away-and-neutral with a better team than you'd get a home-and-home with.Only one team would draw well at the Q against a MAC team, and that's Ohio State. No other team brings the interest they do. Pitt would be second, but they would have to being their own fans from Pittsburgh while OSU draws the locals.tOSU basketball doesn't carry a tenth of the cache football does in NEO. Pitt might actually be a better draw. College basketball just doesn't capture the attention of the area.

  23. Does Akron fall after the home loss? http://tinyurl.com/ylmsc5o
  24. 1. Actually, there were like 7 seconds left when he shot it, which makes it that much worse.2. Groce was frantically trying to call a timeout. Refs did not recognize him.
